Blow out

I was merrily driving last night in Dubai to collect my new watch, when I thought the tyre had a blow out.

It turns out the I destroyed it by driving on a rapidly deflating tyre having picked up a nail the size of an anchor Considering the speed there was no other damage, very lucky

I was impressed the way this Michelin tyre held up (275/40/20 Latitude Diamaris). But finding a replacement was fun! Premium tyres cost a small fortune here. I suppose somethings are no different where ever you go. Land Rover quoted £430.

I had it replaced by the Michelin distributor for £270 and they also filled all the tyres with Nitrogen with free top up's for life of the tyre.

You say the premium tyres are a small fortune in Dubai - you should try here! You wouldn't find that tyre anywhere for £270. I had to pay £340 for a 275/40/18

Was the rim damaged? It's a pisser when the tyre was otherwise in good order. Still, at least you walked away - I wouldn't fancy losing a tyre in a 4x4 at speed.

What kind of tire was this? I paid £240 for a 285/30/19 P zero Corsa.
Are you buying competition tires?

Oh, runflats!!! Thats eye wateringly expensive.

Mate use camskills for future purchases (£285.30 inc vat). And also if you want usually local tire fitters will price match camskills also.
Here the link. Safe motoring.

Kev - no warning light came up. I don't think the vehicle is equipped with it either

But the interesting thing is that this tyre is a non run flat and the fact it still held up like it did is what impressed me the most.
