Thanks Baynec
I read the thread. Is it the same issue? My sound was incredibly loud and occurred when I first opened the door and continued all the way home. No difference if radio was off, same volume of loud static.
Got home, turned off car, let sit for 20 minutes, no more static and has been quiet for the last two days. Mystery....still head unit?

My excellent service rep will take care of noise and all other issues. It's good to still be under warranty.

I have a 2011 328i with the same problem this morning. I popped the speaker cover off the rear deck speaker and it stopped. It doesn't seem to be a head unit problem because the radio worked while it buzzed and the volume control didn't affect the level of noise.

Hello, Do you have a link to this service bulletin please? My 2010 E92 320D pro radio is making the same noise as Roundle's video shows.

I have only just bought the car today and it has a 3 month "warranty" from the Jaguar main dealer who sold me the car. Hopefully if I can pinpoint the issue they might cave and fix it for me?

Thanks in advance

Oops - it just happened to me, but mine is a 2012 335xi coupe, and the loud buzzing is coming from my front speakers, not sure if rear ones had it too. It happened twice in this morning.

One of the posts on here got my attention which is that I also noticed my "P" indicator light was on even the car was completely shut off, doors were closed and the key was out last night. Is that normal??

I'm having this same problem with my 09-328. the sound seems to be getting worse, and I'm also smelling burned plastic/rubber. This can't be normal?

The buzzing problem has not happened since the first day, but i dont think the issue is gone though. I am still going to report it next time I take it into dealership for service, asking them to replace the head unit - would they replace it if they can't replicate the problem??

If you smell something burnt, then it shouldn't be normal, and should probably leave the car, maybe???

water where the amp is located. pulled the harness and the buzzing stopped.
cleared out the water, dried everything out, and now the buzz is still there. i'm thinking the amp is fried.

Yes, I posted my solution in here:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=973985

The problem was the optical cable. When the dealer did the recall which changed how the battery connected to the computer, I think they somehow screwed up the connection behind the dash.

Anyway, good luck!

Fantastic! Glad to hear that you solved the problem. To be honest, I was not sure if my little "DIY" actually solved the problem or if it was just a fluke. Sounds like you've just confirmed the root cause.

Cheers!
