Can you safely machine 3mms off of a 24 mm wheel to obtain a 27 mm offset?
Was looking at some MRR GT1 wheels. Talking to the sales consultant at Need4speed Motorsports(I bought wheels from them for my 350Z). Rep says he routinely takes a 24 ET used for the 5 series and has 3 mms machine off to create a 27 ET. $25/tire but would do it for free since I purchased before. Is this reasonable or even safe? I guess I would be better off just purchasing the new Velocity motoring V714s in the correct offsets and have them painted silver? I don't want dark colored wheels. They look like the same wheel?

2 or 3mm is the most I would go. I think you will be fine.
