Laguna pic from yesterday...excellent track day.

I was with Hooked on Driving at Laguna Seca raceway yesterday..playing here with my friend in the 2000 Audi S4 - Stage 3...this was the corkscrew. Fun stuff..excepted I chorded my r compound track tires..Ugh...its only money, right? Note to self: NEED MORE NEGATIVE CAMBER UP FRONT!

The good stuff is that the shop foreman of my dealership was my student..SCORE...we talked about all kinds of stuff. Second, I gave some VIP laps to Randy from BMW. Not sure exactly what his role is...but "Randy" is decently connnected in NorCal with BMW. Market Area Manager perhaps? He was impressed with my car.

nice photo! Looks like a really nice day!

1 question:

- Is it best to upshift after this turn or keep the same gear?
I upshifted to 4th once after T9 & also T10 & then had to quickly downshift to 3rd.

I found it best to keep the car in 3rd gear from T8 thru T11.

Let me think....I was in 3rd from T8 thru T10...upshifted to 4th in between T10-T11..and then down shifted twice to 2nd for T11.

I loved laguna. The guys from Edge were telling me that Hooked is a pretty decent outfit. I noticed they have more events at Laguna this year. Think I'm going to try them for my next event.

Car looks good.

Got camber/caster plates?

I am running -2 degrees with 9+ on caster. 1/16" toe-in(total) seem to help turn-in a bit.

I ran too much tire pressure last time out...the Pilot Sport Cups requires much less tire pressure than the V710's. I just found that out!

Have you ever driven your car with the DTC off only, it causes lots of unwanted understeer and throttle steer is not possible even with the Quaife...oops!

Yeah...you are suppose to run 32F and 36R with the Pilot Sport Cups..according to their website. I run with the DTC totally disengaged..otherwise the car turns off stuff when I dont want it to.

I don't recall, were you on Pilot Sport Cups as well? Is that where your hot pressure were? I guess with that setting, it will take away some of the understeer.

Just seem a bit low to me, at least for the front tires...

Do you remember who was there taking the photos that day? I would like to purchase a CD/DVD from him

Thanks.
