My new track day shoes.

So I can't drive worth a dam with rubber soles. Yea I know buy pumas or sperrys yada yada. But I don't want to spend the money on shoes that will most likely have the same problem? Solution? Bought a 20 dollar pair of sketchers and ripped the soles off. All thats left is a piece of felt which I further sanded down in the spot I need feeling. They are totally flexible and I predict heel toeing will be possible for me now on the track.

Yea they look like crap, but I'm not going to be wearing it on anything but my right foot while its in my foot well.

I may even cut out the section I need feeling and sow in a very thin piece of cloth.

Now the question is will I get yelled at for wearing them.

glad youre a do it yourself man, love the idea bet you can really feel those pedals now huh? imo expensive racing shoes are way overrated there is a huge distinction between real driving skills and a pair of hopped up racing kicks. sweet idea

I drive barefoot normally. Which is a lot of the reason for needing something like this.

Man, I can't do barefoot.
I like skate shoes like Etnies or Globe.
They work perfect for me since they're my normal shoes anyway.

As do I!

...and if I see you wearing these while not in the car, I will purposely throw things in front of you. (i.e. liquids, gum, etc.)

Or you can just do what I do and rock the sock shoes. No one can tell...
