Agreed. I sent some as well. It appears that on some cars there is a boost control issue that will be worked out in the next release. My car was very bad on 2+, my BOV would blow off cyclicly until about 4500 RPM... rev, pssst, rev, pssst, rev, pssst, etc.

That being said, I can't wait to try out a bug free 2+ in the next release! Although by Monday my winter wheels will be on

You have to be one of the chosen few who test their products before they are released to the general public.

those are not even in beta but alpha. YOU dont want to run those since they are not even 80% done.
COBB is getting a RB turbo car inhouse soon so it will be easier for them to get out upped turbos maps.

Interesting. I haven't had any of these issues. Seems to be only for a select few... hopefully it gets ironed out with this release though.

I'm running stage 2+ sport, and don't notice any boost occilations, but even with the linear throttle map at 4k rpm's I get a boost surge feeling kind of like the stock throttle map on stage 1 aggressive. Anyone else notice that? Ive looked at my logs and even sent them in to cobb and they said they look normal.

Hi

Sport Linear for now. not quite sure of linear, but will give it a bit longer. Very progressive, but at lower engine speeds I understand why some people don't like it. Now it feels more like a NA car with more to explore through the whole rev range. probably I will up it to aggressive this w/e, it's just a bit damp at the mo, and well...basically, I'm chicken.

p.s. canbus features of... ?

How accurate are the boost readings currently on S2+?
Anyone know if this will be rectified with the official release?

Well, just got my AP tonight (thanks Jeff@TopGear!) and learned a good (albeit somewhat obvious in hindsight) lesson...

Jumped in the car installed the Stage 1 Aggressive map (we have 93 octane here so why not!) and went out for a quick test drive. As soon as I got on it, before even hitting WOT I had what turned out to be a bad misfire on cylinder 2. Engine shaking, stumbling, etc. Fortunately, in the back of my mind I was somewhat expecting something to go wrong and I immediately let off and eased it back home without further incident. Threw the stock ECU back on and did a test run on it, no problems at all.

Lesson learned is: spend your cash on making sure your car is in good shape before dropping it on the tune. At this stage, a lot of N54s out there have a good bit of mileage on them (I have 50k+) and could use some TLC. Most likely the misfire is being caused by massive carbon build-up and/or old plugs (CPO car). I'll spend as much as the tune cost getting that stuff taken care of and hopefully all will be well after that, but if you have any doubts about the shape your N54 is in, get it cleaned up before you get tuned up!

Hi,

This is a question for Cobb engineers (most likely) but other opinions are welcome.

Lately GIAC Stage 2 has become a bit "boring" for me. Don't get me wrong, it works perfectly with not even a hiccup. But I want to experiment with higher boost, different throttle settings, etc. and I am sure I will not be able to do this with GIAC. However GIAC works so good that I'm not prepared to switch entirely to another tune.

I wonder if it's possible to save my GIAC existing flash for later restore by installing the Cobb AccessPort over it ? I mean, instead of saving the OEM file for later restoring, the Cobb AP would save my existing GIAC flash for later restoring. Theoretically it should work, right ? Unless GIAC has some copy protection mechanism ?

And then I could experiment with Cobb AP to see if there is more power to be had on the dyno, etc. but without losing the ability to install my GIAC flash back (without sending my ECU to GIAC).

What do you think ?

Dont think is possible. Does not work for Dinan flash.
Get a JB4 and run it on top of GIAC with 1-2 psi overboost when meth is active.

AFAIK the GIAC flash is encrypted, which is why it cannot be read out by the COBB AP.
