Is it possible to change the fuel pump but not have the software update? thanks.
So long as your ROM is recognized by COBB, you will be able to reflash the vehicle back to the Stage 1 tune after you get it back to the dealership. You can definitely also request for them to NOT update the software on the car as well.

The guys at COBB are also very fast to update their ROM database, so even if the dealer gives you an unrecognized one, you will be able to flash it within a few days after you submit it to COBB.

Be sure to note the coding changes (from the VO) and have the AP uninstalled anytime you visit the dealer, especially if the car is due for a major service or hasn't been in for a visit in over a year.
So if I'm understanding you correctly, if you have special coding done on your car, and you go into the dealer, and they update your car's software, then you'll lose that coding, right?

Is there any way to have the dealer flash the DME software but NOT erase that custom coding (like window operation via remote, etc)? That would give it away I suppose if you tell them you've got "special coding" though and they'd probably flag your car! But I'd hate to pay for special coding only to have it flashed over at some point in the near future, given how quickly the software updates come out...

Plus, if I have an issue with something, and the only way to fix it is via a software update, then I'd have no choice anyway... Like how when last year I couldn't read the music on the USB stick and they flashed the car to fix it. That's why I've been holding off on getting special coding done.

They won't flag your car nor will the dealer care that you got "custom coding" done. If they perform a service that requires a module to be updated, that one update will most likely span all modules, returning the vehicle coding to the original dealer list. This is because your car's feature list or options are set in the VO (Vehicle Order) list.

Options activated by either the BMW service tools or AutoLogic are the only method of coding that is NOT overwritten by dealer-applied updates. Most of the tweaks applied by NCS and forum-distributed tools will be overwritten. There isn't much you can do about it unless you or the service tech declines the update.

I noticed that when I updated my AP last night it pulled in only 1 93octane map. Is there no longer any alternate throttle feel maps with v203? My car is a 6MT

+1, there is no need to worry if your ROM isn't recognized as the guys over there at COBB do have a pretty quick turn around time to get you a working version!

I just updated my COBB AccessPORT through the AP manager and did also notice that the IJEOS v203 does not have the alternate throttle maps either. Right now it shows up as v203 91, v203 93, v203 ACN for the available map choices.

Even the 203 maps? I still don't see them for my ECU (I8A0S)
I still have the beta checked. Maybe there is another spot on cobbtuning.com I'm not looking.

I thought I read that Cobb will slowly rollout the new 203 maps in the upcoming weeks for the various ECUs. I too have I8A0S and haven't found the 203 map yet

Maybe someone from cobb is watching and they'll make I8A0S the next ECU to get it

The 2.03 maps are for automatics only.

Are you sure about that? in Cobb's post it didn't say it was for auto's only just that the tweaks they made only affected the autos. My impression is that the maps is for both AT/MT.

Yes I am sure. The improvements are only for AT cars. The 2.03 maps are exactly the same as the 2.02 maps for MT.

I updated my AP last week and it erased all my maps and replaced with 2.03. I went back and put all my old maps back on my AP because I'm one of those strange types that actually preferred the 2.02 v2 map. I like the way I'm able to actually modulate the throttle as opposed to what 2.02 and 2.03 feel like.

Supposedly, the 2.03 maps are the same as 2.02 for the MT guys. Unless they do something like the v2 map for 2.03, I'll stick with 2.02 v2.

2.03 are not yet on the Calibrations page of the website. I didn't notice much difference and I still get the 2->3 ghost upshift around 4500RPM if I use the paddles to shift 1-2.

I plugged my AP into my PC and AP Manager and after the firmware update (no release notes though), I saw the .203 maps. Out to the car and in just a few minutes moved to 91 - 203. Something new is always fun.
Love this product !
