Automatic transmision on 320D e90

Hey,i have a question about the AT on 320D e90.I red that the transmision oil must change on 80-100k kilometres. Is that true ? And i red that from BMW claimed that the transmision oil is ''lifetime'' and the change isn't necessary, but from ZF claimed that the oil should change on arround 60-80k kilometres.. hm .. ? Where's the truth here ? I'm afraid of this situation.I'm looking for 320d e90 163ps/177ps on 100-120k kilometres, should i change the oil when i buy the car ? hm.. ? pls help ..

people have day jobs.

anyway, bmw first said don't change the atf. then they changed their mind and said do it at 100,000 miles.

there's always some risk when changing fluid at a mileage like 100,000mi thats why some places will refuse to touch it.

bottom line... the fluid isn't really lifetime, the earlier you change it the better, regular changes are good (like every 50,000mi), if you wait till 100,000 or more there is some risk although minor.

i will let you do some work and convert mi to km.

You should change it, if you are still around 120k km.

Change AT and MT fluid. My indy BMW mechanic says every 80k km (50k ml). My E46 5AT almost died after hearing this advice too late. My E90 6MT will be getting this done religiously (although not as important or crucial as the AT fluid).

Thanks for the posts ! And what's your opinion,on these kilometres/miles (130k/80k),for what should i look ? automatic or manual ? I've heard and red that automatic is much better, but i'm afraid because of the miles... I mean is a automatic on 120-30k kilometres/70-80k miles a good decision ?

hm... dunno, for where u live, but here in Bulgaria the prices are very high for everything, with no idea why .. And in my town, which isn't small for BG the driver's of e90 are few .. and because of that when they go to change something, they paid a lot for something, that in u r country is cheaper .. that's the bad truth .. :\
p.p. what do you think, about my question for MT and AT ?

AT is great for driving in the city, but when it comes to sportier driving MT rules. You are more involved in driving with manual. I'm driving 163ps with AT and I think I would be more happier with manual.

You should test drive them both, and get the 177ps model if you can afford it.
