2009 328i Sedan - Will These Wheels Fit?
Hey everyone! My first post on e90post and I have a wheel and tire size question for you guys. I just purchased a new 2009 328i Sedan and it came with the 16" x 7.0" multi spoke style 282 wheels. I really don't like the look of the stockies and I'm thinking about upgrading to 18" wheels already (just got the car less than 2 weeks ago, I must be crazy changing the wheels already hahaha). I found some wheels I like and I wanted to know if they'll fit my 328i without any spacers or modifications.
Here they are: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=370264996843 So, will these fit my car and what size tires should I buy so my speedometer will still read correctly? It says they'll fit on the auction page but it's hard to trust people on ebay sometimes. Thanks in advance for the help. P.S. - Forgot to mention that the car does NOT have the sport package. No idea about the quality of these wheels. Personally I would look around the forums and buy from a online supplier with some good customer feedback.
I think 18x8 is a pretty good size. I would recommend using 235/40/18 tyres on these for each corner (225/40/18 would also work). The offset of 38mm is slightly high but still usable for your car. Around 34 ~ 32mm offset would be a better fit in the guards without any risk of rubbing. |

The offsets are pretty much right on for an LCI. Remember, the LCI requires a much more conservative offset than pre-LCI models. Size wise, they'll fit well, I would be wary of buying rims from Ebay though. That's an extremely low price so I can't imagine the quality is all that good.

18s stiffen the ride because there is less sidewall that gives you that squishy feeling around curves. If you do pull the trigger, check out places that cater to BMWs. VMR has great wheels at a reasonable price. Staggered set of VB3s (18x8.5 fronts and 18x9.5 rears) with the right aspect ratio tires will be comparable to your current 16s. There are numerous sites to determine your dimension differences, including Tire Rack. I run OEM style 162s (18x8.0 and 18x8.5) on my e90 335i, but want to trade up to the VMR VB3s just because of $750 price for the set, or the Forgestar F14s because they are only 20 lbs each in 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 configuration (around $1300 a set, whew!!). At any rate, you will have more rubber in the rear to propel your vehicle with a staggered setup. Sport package or lowering could improve the handling characteristics, as well as the look, but shoes would improve the looks, as well, and would probably be the easiest to accomplish so soon. Everyone likes 19s, but I like the 18s becaues of the road conditions around my area (read, potholes). OBTW, I have Hankook ventus12 non-runflats (225/40x18, 255/35x18) on my ride. GL on your choices, and welcome to the forum. Last edited by flip4335; 08-10-2013 at 12:02 PM.. |

Yes, those will fit, just go with OEM tire size, 225/40/18.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm looking at the VMR V710 wheels now also. Are there any reputable sellers that you guys recommend for the VMRs? And where can can I find the best price for them?
BTW, I'm really excited to be a member here. E90 Post has great info (Especially the DIY section , wow!) I'll definately let you guys know what wheels I get and I'll make sure to take some pics when I get them installed. Thanks again! |

Just adding a picture of our 18" V710 on a E92 M3. All the vendors above are excellent choices when considering the purchase of our V710s.
We invite you to browse our gallery as well if you want a better idea of how our wheels might look on your car. http://www.velocitymotoring.com/links/gallery.htm |
