Best courtesy car?
My 335i is currently in the body shop after a Romainian driver in a Belgian HGV pulled out into the nearside rear on the M25. My insurance has arranged a pretty interesting hire car for me whilst it's in. It's a 2.4 JTDM 5-cylinder diesel with a 6-speed manual box, so it goes quite well as long as you keep it above about 1800rpm - below that, you drop off boost and it completely dies. The handling's OK, though it's a bit wallowy compared to my car. I do rather like the panoramic sunroof though.
So, what's the best courtesy car you've ever had? |

Out of the box LCI 330d e92 a couple of months ago.
This weeks is a 320d e92 poverty spec in dog knob red. More thoughts on that soon. My engine is fine by the way, just getting bonnet resprayed. |

MB - had similar when my R32 Golf went for a repair.
A ten year old Micra that had been paint stripped across the bonnet. Hence now using BMW insurance so if I do need it, I get a proper car that isn't worked on by some cr4ppy firm the insurance company insists you use. In my case it was also bloody miles away and in the worst part of London I've ever been to. |

The net result was – I was given this comedy sketch car to drive, the first two attempts on the front end re-spray were that bad I ended up getting a independent specialist to examine the job. Eventually they got it right but not after I lost about 3 days of work and had to drive this piece of shit for nearly 2 weeks. A LESSON LEARNT! |

MB - doh! They did a fairly good job on mine (apart from overspray on the fuel filler cap) but I also had that utter sh1theap for two weeks. Worst car I've driven.
Also never again. |
