Does anyone have aftermarket seats in their E90/E92?

I was just wondering if anyone had aftermarket seats in their E90 or E92? I will be getting the sport seats for my E92, but I have already had an E46 with sport seats and I feel that they just don't hold you in enough. I'm interested in what's available for the E90/92 as far as rails/sliders go. I was thinking of getting either a pair of Status racing seats or Recaro SPG's. Has anyone else changed out their seats yet? Thanks.

I figured that it was a slim chance, but I was even more interested in knowing if there were any rails/sliders available for our cars yet?

Hmmm... maybe because the sport seats offer no support in turns, as well as they are uncomfortable, but I guess that is kind of hard to give up, right? Maybe if I was 50lbs overweight they would form to my body better.

there is a side airbag built into the seat though, I don't know you will be able to fit an aftermarket seat with no side airbags?

And there are sensors in them (passenger recognition)...I suppose reupholstering/adding more bolstering might be a better bet?

I believe that is the best way to go about it

that's a really good idea. im really skinny and the sport seats don't hold me too well either (though the bolster pump thing makes them better than the E46 sport seats). Plus all the sensors and airbags and bells and whistles would make them complicated to replace. These days, with cars getting so computerized, replacing something like seats is never just replacing seats is it?

visit a reputable upholstery shop, they can easily add more cushion/padding to the side bolster (may have to change the seat cover to accomodate the extra cushioning)

...they do this all the time on 'pimp my ride'. Insist on 'corinthian leather'

That's a good call on having an upholstery shop redo the seats.

I love the back of my sport seats (the inflatable bolsters work perfect), but the seat cushion is lacking. I'd like that improved.

What?!? They moved the side airbags to the seats? I didn't even know that. I know on my E46 they were in the doors, I guess that changed. This isn't really the news that I was looking for, but its better to find out now then later. I appreciate all of the replies, I guess I have a lot more to learn about this car. In my S2K, swapping seats takes all of 20 minutes and it is all simple as removing 5 bolts, and then replacing them, but then again I don't have side airbags. Am I going crazy though, I could have sworn on my E46 that the side airbags were in the doors when I changed out my mirrors. I guess that was redesigned?

So the side airbags are now built into the seats or just the sensors? If it were just sensors (ie. for weight to see if a passenger is in the passenger seat) then it shouldn't be a problem, but if airbags were physically in the seats then aftermarket seats are out of the question.

They're physically in the seats. Also the sensors are an integral part of the system (multi stage airbags). Not sure what kind of errors you'd have if you remove the bags/sensors/seat.

Thanks for the response. Its kind of dissappointing, but I'd rather have side airbags then seats that hug my sides.
