Ulitmate Maitenance/Warranty

Before I get flamed, I've searched both this forum and the entire internet using google (maybe I am phrasing my query incorrectly).

Does anyone know where I can find a list of what's covered under the Ultimate Maintenance/Warranty? The dealer in my area runs commercials stating that it is cost free maintenance - they pay for every thing except gas & tires! That's also what I was told when I bought the car.

For the most part they were accurate, they pay for oil changes, wiper blades, brake pads, etc. BUT they have asked me to pay for the alignment ($200) and a power steering fluid service ($150), both of which I declined.

I can kinda see why the alignment would be an extra because the user could hit a curb and knock it out of alignment every week and abuse the system (but they should just give you one once a year or with new tires or something). But the power steering fluid should be included. That is a routine maintenance item, isn't it?

Any body know if these are to be included and if not why?

I was recently in for maintenace and they covered all my fluids. I wouldn't pay $200 for an alignment though since most decent shops can do if for half the price.

I went all around town and finally found one that would do it for $100 plus tax, shop supplies, my first born child, etc. Then they said their machine wouldn't work on my BMW because of idiotic reason. I am not noticing any weird wear patterns so I am not too concerned at this point.

How about the power steering service? Is there just a place I can find exactly whats included and what specifically is not included?

Garage List
Power steering fluid change is not part of the normal maintenance schedule. The dealership was trying to make some money off of you.

Yeah, I figured they were just trying to make (another) buck off of me. But where does BMWNA keep their warranty fine print at?

When I bought my car, among the "library" of booklets BMW gave me -- about 7 books/booklets -- was one that identified the terms and coverage provided with my warranty. Have you checked in your BMW "library?"

Hmmm. I'll have to dig that out.
