Does 100 octane make that much of a difference?

Thats unreal because my car is a strong runner from what I feel and I could only do 12.8 and that's with an upgraded FMIC but just 93 gas.

100 octane made a difference, wish I had a VBOX so I knew how much in 1/4 mile times but based on 0-60 from my videos of the speedo I dropped almost 3/4 of a second. Also the wheelspin in 1st gear wasn't an issue on 93 octane Map 2, on 100 octane map 7 I hit the rev limiter and have to launch in 2nd gear to get good times.

I also think the 50 F temps and generally low humidity made a difference, I was almost at sea level using DA.

Awesome, how much did the meth affect your times? I'm looking at that as my next mod, this Wednesday I'm heading back to the same strip with the same DA as my 12.031 run but taking out the passenger and rear seats for hopefully ~150lbs. I'll post up here what my results are with the weight reduction.

nice. what are your mods? it can't be only jb4 and intake. i wish we had more than one track around here. there's so much demand that it's like a 2 hr wait to run so you are lucky to get 2 runs in. miss a shift or bog the launch and you just wasted your whole night

Maybe compared to his car with the run-flats and not the slicks, but his time with just tune + DCI on slicks is quicker. Of course he's 350lbs lighter too, I don't know enough about it to say for sure but both cars probably make similar power but his traps are higher because of less weight?

Either way, crazy fun even with all the american muscle dumping fluids on the track every 1/2 hour

Not sure if it's possible, but if I can get map 6 enough fuel then there is a chance I'd come down a tenth or two. Otherwise it's meth in the spring and that should be great considering my IAT goes from 70-150 during my runs.

The track was dead yesterday and last wednesday, between the two nights I probably got 50-60 runs in! The RWD american muscle hates the cool temps because they can't hook up, so they all go home early

His meth times get even more nuts, but I did just think about his other advantage over XI is that we have a more drivetrain loss < 100mph before it goes to RWD only. I wonder why BMW kept AWD to 100mph anyway, I can't see it ever being used over 45-60mph at the most. How awesome would it be if some tuner could make that configurable

Because Germans know how to drive retarded fast in the snow, lol.

I agree. If people can hack/tune the ECU, why can't they do the same with the TCU? I'm sure they can, its just the market probably isn't there.

I took it to atco last week and was a little let down. I ran a 12.6with just cobb stage 1 map version 2.01. I now have Cobb stage 2+ beta map with helix FMIC, AR catles downpipes and injen CAI. My mph was good but the time I expected to be lower. Is it because I used 93 octane? Should I have launched in second gear? Here is my new timeslip. Thanks

Map 3, 90/10 mix, ~102 octane half a tank in 80 degree weather at 1470 ft above sea level

Mods are JB4 15 ohm, Mr5 intake, snow performance meth/water injection. 2 cm3 nozzles, one in each intake snorkel pre-filter, and a cm10 into a custom elbow.

It'll be easy to improve upon. Just going when it drops to below 50 degrees, and ordering my UR catless pipes should put me in the 11s if I can improve on my reaction time.

Has anybody here tried comparing times on a 2nd gear launch vs a 1st?
