The conditions are posted (the screen shot of DA)

I was running 2:1 e85 / 100 octane.

I had to launch at 2.5 cuz anything higher would give wheelspin then trans would shut off.

I tried 100% e85 and got fuel code error and cylinder shut off.

Ur car is crazy strong for 130k miles. Wow. you have the record for Xi it looks like.

How much faster was the car with 2:1 e85/100 octane vs E85/93?

launch would cause wheelspin and trans to shutoff? really? 1.8 60'? I cut 1.7 and no problems with mine i guess. shifting at 5500.

I really feel, just my opinion, that E85 is the faster fuel vs gasoline. Yeah anytime the car gets more than slight wheel spin the power gets shut off from the transmission. I think BMW didn't intend for XI to be spinning out and if they were they wanted to control that situation.

I have all season street tires so they aren't exactly the best for drag racing. I think summers or DR would be needed for better launches. I think 1.5 would be very possible.

I try to shift at 6.2k or so

You should be able to roast your tires in 1st gear, but upshift logic is suspended when there is wheelspin. I can spin all I want, but it will bounce off the rev limiter if I don't pull the shift paddle at ~5250-5500 RPM to shift at 6500-6800.

I have not Once Turn In Concepts in cincinnati gets there AWD Dyno up and running I will probably give it a go

Also, mykal335xi, I look up to you and tried to read all your posts to learn about xi stuff. My experience is that wheelspin induces trans shutting off. This doesn't matter where the RPM happens to be. In addition, I don't know how you were doing 2nd gear lanuches. Maybe better tires?

Thanks,

Kenny

We have the same year car so it should be the same. I can't imagine they would limit power on wheelspin when the DTC/DTS are both off, the car would be useless in the snow. You could be hitting a torque limit though or something like that.

Maybe wait for some rain and play around with launching in the wet, that's always good for a healthy amount of spin, especially if it's a new road/parking lot that is smooth.

The 2nd gear launches I haven't done in a long time, it blew the 2nd gear from my trans and I had to put in a rebuilt one. I probably did 75 launches before it started going out, but for me it's 1st gear from here on out as 2nd gear was only a tenth faster.

Thanks, my best launches seem to be around 4000rpm or else the car bogs down. I try to feather the clutch and gas perfectly but usually I either bog or the stock clutch slips.

Now when you say e85 vs gasoline, are u referring to 100 octane or 93?

I haven't experienced bad wheelspin yet, one day

My car was pulling like crazy today with 60% e85 mix, i was seeing 19-20 psi and 12-13 degrees of timing.

Do you have the logs of your runs??

I mean 100 octane.

The next time I run I will be doing custom backend flash and map 6. I don't have logs of the run but I do have logs of the two fuel mixes:

2:1 e85/100 http://datazap.me/u/knissel/4-gal-e8...ctane-3rd-gear

1:1 http://datazap.me/u/knissel/2-3-4-50...bms-race-flash

Really. 100% E85 you got fuel code error. do you run JB Flex Fuel sensor? How does the 100 octane work for you compared to e85/93?

Congrats! Those are some solid numbers. I'm going back next week to Englishtown if it cools off a bit. today is crazy 94 degrees and humid!

You have an N54 car? Nice numbers, what RPM are you shifting at?

Gotcha. So you feel that e85 is much stronger compared to 100 octane. Can you not run E70 or so? mixed with 93?

These maps are fantastic, i was messing around with the parameters on the bottom, how did you upload them? Export them from the BMS software?

You seem to be averaging 11 degrees of timing in boost in 3rd gear, and 17 psi! that's fantastic, turbos are healthy. IAT was low on the first map, was it cold outside? second map it was closer to 125 degrees.

Map 6 is custom right? Trying to hit more boost?

Yeah I would like to be closer to 20 psi of boost. I have the newest e85 flash and am running around e60 and it feels stronger on map 5 with e85 / 93 then it did with race flash and e85 / 100 octane :!

This is all subjective just saying my butt feels happy.

It was hotter out with that IAT and also I did 4 logs right before that one.

20 psi of boost in your car would be nuts! you ran 11.8 on 17!

So e60 feels stronger on map 5 than map 6?

What about map 7? Shouldn't that be 18.5 psi target? my car was hitting 20 psi on map 7.

Hey! Another Quebecois on here!

You should be able to do much better than 12.7... 6MT or 6AT? What's your 60 foot ET? You have DPs and FMIC, but I guess you are running 91 octane gas (looks like you're from Quebec City, and I know there is no Petro-Canada 94 is Quebec City area). What's your tune? What map are you running? You should be able to run low 12 seconds with proper tune/gas and a good launch...

Ran last night on a hot and humid day at Englishtown. Best time of 13.4 @ 112 (will edit post with specifics when I get home from the office). Only modification is the Procede 2.5 on the 5-23 maps (Map setting 1). Car weighed 3855 with me, boxes of sample silk wedding invitation boxes and gas tank on 8 miles to empty LOL. Ran straight from the office...suit, tie and wingtips...full street mode.

I dont run a agressive tune is autologic about 40 hp 80 tork...
Run on 91 octane, AT and the closest petro can where a Trois-Riviere...
Lunch at 3000rpm maybe little bit more, and I have 19inch wheel
0-60 foot is about 1.875
