Refinish e90 162s?
I just bought an 07 335i with 162s. I noticed after giving it its first wash that some of the finish is coming off of the wheels. You can't really notice it unless you are upclose, but I assume it's only going to get worse over time.
I love this wheel set, so I was wondering how much would it be to get them refinished? Or is it best to just get new ones when they get worse? Any help is appreciated! |

I have a similar issue but with chrome on 162s. I'm going to have mine powder coated in the next month or so. Was quoted $500 for strip, blast, sand, spray any color I want. May be different in your area. Unless you find a used set, OEM 162s are high and no reps are made

I live in West Michigan and used these guys for my 162 wheels:
http://www.awrswheelrepair.com/ He charged $100 per wheel. Showed up at my house with his mobile workshop and was very professional. Lifetime guarantee on the materials and workmanship. They turned out great! |

This means the previous owner curbed them and had them refinished. Or the dealer did.

Some light curb rash and some chips were repaired. I don't know exactly what the process was but I know he did some sanding and painting. His workshop had built in air compressors and paint booth. I know he put a couple coats of clear on them also. I even had a tire replaced afterward and the tire shop goudged the edge. So I called the refinisher to come back and fix it and he offered to fix it for free when he was working in the area again. I gave him a very nice tip for that.

In the seattle WA area there is a guy that will powder coat for $50 a wheel. Best bet is to find a quality and affordable powder coater. $75 a wheel is reasonable.
