Question about BMW Performance Suspension Install
I found an Indy shop that was willing to install the BMW Performance suspension for $380. I know that's a great price. They work on some BMWs, but their main focus is Porsches and VWs. I was planning on letting them do the install if I end up getting the suspension.
My question is, though, is there anything that different about working on a BMW or specifically, switching out springs and shocks and a sway bar that would make it so that not any mechanic could do it? I've got a buddy who's a general mechanic (probably doesn't work on a lot of BMWs, if any) who could probably do it for closer to $250. Is that a bad idea? He does do a lot of suspension work, but I didn't know if there was anything he could mess up not being familiar with BMWs. Thoughts?

A shop that has tools for Porsche and VW will do fine. $380 is great. Will they do the alignment there or somewhere else?

Yeah, that doesn't included alignment, but they have a shop they use so it will be $60 on top of that.
Scottp, what are some of the tools that someone would need if they don't typically work on german cars at all? And I would love to see a bigger version of your avatar pic - you have the performance suspension, right?

SO I guess you aren't keeping the V2's?

Still stewing it over - trying to sell my sport suspension on eBay. I priced it fairly high to start - if I can get a decent amount for it and feel confident there's nothing this shop can screw up with a $380 install, I'll probably go for it.
