N51 is the SULEV edition, they changed some stuff in the engine so it saves a little more gas than the N52 I guess, other than that the exhaust should fit and work for you.

The exhaust should fit an N52 as intended with no issues. Check the emissions sticker under your hood. If it says SULEV then you have an N51. ULEV is N52.

I assumed I had an n52 till I checked. If you haven't looked, you really should. I was a bit surprised.

On N51's the pipe after the resonator is a larger diameter than the N52 cars and I needed to have it welded on. For N51 cars, a couple inches will need to be cut off of the AA exhaust so that it'll weld up properly.

I have some pictures on a review thread I posted a few months back if you're curious.

n51 has 3stg intake manifold. n52 has higher compression. minor minor differences.

Then doesn't that mean the n51 cars come from the factory with more power overall?

no. the compression ratio of the n51 is lower.. not by much, just a little. I am pretty sure the n51 also has an extra set of cats. someone can correct me if i'm wrong, but i think those are the two biggest differences

I have an N51. From all my knowledge gained from reading about the 3 stage and such, if you get a AA stage 2 tune done on a n51 it's close to the power of a 330. Just as if a N52 got a 3 stage and then got the tune. I could be wrong but that's what I was told by many people. Currently on my n51 performance wise I have PE, PI and AA Stage 2 and loving it.

both US N52 N51 came with secondary cats, but N51 unit are more denser.
