Amazing what you can do with a £1100 vilyn wrap. Im as automobile enginnering assessor, and went to a paint shop who was spaying a two moths old unmarked black gloss Bentley Continental to matt black.

The owner is paying 12000 euros for the whole car

Wow.... nothing more that can be said!

Your car looks amazing, I have been thinking about taking the plunge for a while now. But wasn't really sure how it would look? Is it easy to take care of??

Any chance you can PM me a link to the wrappers?

Craig

I got it done from a company in Kent called Barming Signs - you can google them for their website, contact details etc.

Keeping the car is a lot easier (it was white before). I used to wash it once a week, now i clean it every 4 weeks.

When its unclean the car looks more matte

When its really clean the matte colour gets a sweaty effect and looks really good especially at night.

Its been a year since the wrap went on and its just as good as the day it was bought, and all the air bubbles have disappeared.

Anyway, good luck with your decision.

I'm tempted to get a wrap, love the colour of mine though but just want to save it from stone chips! It's a lot of dosh, I was thinking about doing a vinyl wrapping course and maybe do it as a side job!

P.s. Car looks superb, I bet it's now dubbed "the batmobile"?

wheels are nice as well, 20" with 25 profile :O

Theres a guy on the forum who did this. He did a couple of panels a day after work for a week, and got the whole car done - looked the nuts, and only cost him $200.

On my next car i am definitely doing this (or when the matte black comes off maybe ill wrap it orange :O)

Personally I'm a bit too old to be driving around in a batmobile but I really think its looks great.

Whats a wrap btw? Can you take it off and your paint underneath is still ok?

Yea, it can't be that hard! I'd wrapped a couple of things like laptops etc and i've watched loads of tutorials and read about it online so know the basics and principles of fitting vinyl so I reckon I could do it, just when it comes to some parts like parking sensor's i'd be a bit err...

Well it goes a lil somethin like this:

Now this is a story
all about how my life
got twisted upside down
and id like to take a minute
just sit right there
ill tell you how i became the prince
of a town called Bel-Air

In west Philadelphia
born and raised
on the playground my momma said
most of my days
chilling out, maxing
and relaxing all cool
and all shooting some b-ball
outside of school
when a couple of guys
they were up to no good
started making trouble in our neighborhood
i got in one little fight and my mom got scared
she said your moving
in with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air

i whisted for a cab and when it came near
the license plate said fresh
and had dice in the mirror
if anything i could say that this cab was rare
but i thought nah, forget it
yo home to bel-air!

i-pulled- up tp a house about seven or eight
i yelled to the cabbie yo home, smell you later
looked at my kingdom i was finally there
to sit on my throne as the prince of bel-air !

Jokes aside, it's a sheet of vinyl stuck over the cars original paint, it can be used to colour change the car or as a protective layer. Easy to remove and original paint is left untouched! full car 3 series size I think cost's anything from £1200-2000~

Im going to rinse the ridiculous car colours while i can, im lookin to go orange or bright green next lol. But I agree with this, if i was older i probably wouldnt choose silly colours.

Yeah you use a hairdryer to heat one corner of the wrap so you can start peeling it off, and then its just like taking a label off, do it slowly but firmly.

Best part is the car will be just as alpine white as the day the wrap went on !

Lovely car but echo what everyone says about the tyres. No point buying a quick car that handles well if you are going to do that, decent tyres are surely more important than £1.1k on a wrap.

My old tyres cost £300 a corner, difference between those and my current tyres are minimal imo, and im one of those people that rarely goes over the speed limit anyway so makes no difference.
