Sorry to see the adhesive is having a problem. Looks like you're getting it handled though.

I have to ask (since I'm new to this board) - does every one of your threads result in the leg humpers clogging it up with amorous efforts to get your attention?

Ahhh...well, I was wondering how you could stand it, if that was the case. Good to hear not everyone's stalking you on this board.

If you're using a presure sensitive adhesive then you don't have to worry about water after you apply it. You also don't need to put tape or anything else to hold it down for a long period of time. The matte finish on the bottom of the part is for better bonding. For it to bond very well on your car you can do a water break test to make sure you have removed all wax or other coatings that would reduce the bond strength. Just spray some distilled and deionized water on your trunk and see if it beads up. If it does you have some coating or wax that will reduce the bond strength. Use a degreaser or mild solvent to wipe down the area before trying again. Make sure to wipe down the carbon spoiler again too. You can use some heat up to about 110°F to help, but its not necessary and this adhesive doesn't "cure". Just apply about 30 pounds of force per linear inch of adhesive tape. Its more important to apply firm and even pressure than to hold it for a long time. I'd say if you can hold it down firmly for 10-20 seconds you should be fine. If you need more hands...get more people.

Once you've done all that...enjoy it. Don't worry about the rain or the washing. You'd have to use a very strong solvent to break down the tape.

Can you get those carbon splitters for the front now?

like you are? most the people that say negative things or complain about her threads getting too big are really just using backhanded comments to get noticed or try to strike up a response. if you and others didn't care, would you have post in the thread at all? do you post in everybody else's thread even if you have no interest in it?

don't worry, it's not just you who makes comments to seem different or better, there are plenty of others too. you just happen to be the person i picked to point out the obvious. sorry for that.

Good grief. Since I'm now being called on the carpet for my question, I'll just say this - Like I mentioned in my question, I'm new on this board. I've only seen two threads of Sara's; they both devolved into this same kind of behavior. Honestly, I hoped (for her sake) it's not always this way for her. It was an honest question, not an effort to "look better" than someone.

For the record, pursuing attention from Miss Sara is the furthest thing from my mind given that I'm 40, married (happily), and have three kids. Furthermore, the fact that I have a daughter of my own created a certain amount of paternalism which may have prompted my question. But, without a doubt, none of the crap you accused me of. Project much, perhaps?

that makes sense. i often over analyze. too logical maybe so not everything is as black and white as i would like it to be. thank you for pointing that out in a way.

last thing, can't help it... i won't question your motives, but i will say being 40 doesn't make most men any less pervs as a 18 yro. it just means they have to hide it better. that doesn't mean you are... just saying. i liked the married happily and kids part though.
