Need two items of body work done... suggestions?
I've looked into a few shops that are either listed in the phone book or online yellow pages for detail shops but i think they're all way overpriced. ($300 to remove swirls? wtf?)
But yeah... one item consists of refinishing my trunk (the lowest option i have right now is buying a used OEM Jet Black trunk from a guy on the FS/WTB section of the forums... even then it's $500 (shipped). I got a quote from a local body shop that said it would cost be ~$600 to repaint the whole trunk... Anyone have a suggestion at a cheaper (but quality) price? My car is also covered in swirls and i have paint chips and craters all over my front bumper (i'm more worried about the swirls - i'm getting aftermarket bumper and hood later on anyway). Anyone know a good detail garage for a decent price? If i can't get either done, i'm just going to save up for the body parts i want and a whole new paint job anyway, but i would like to stay Jet Black (i like the deep, rich color).... |

Maybe I'm just not that picky Isaac, but your paint was pretty clean when I saw you. That or you had some serious amount of wax on there. The sun wasn't hella bright, but I would think swirls are swirls. heh

You gotta pay to play. Otherwise, learn how to DIY

Cheap and good are generally not associated with body and paint work. You get what you pay for.
Swirls in black cars are very difficult to remove, and they almost always come back. |
