Settings for Audison SRx 1D with JL W7

Guys
I would appreciate your wisdom on setting few bits on this amp.

I am attaching the manual.

Can I kindly ask;

1- Phase: What is the phase? It shows in the diagram that it inverts the curve of the sound.

2- Equiliser:
a) Frequency 40-90 Hz: What should be optimum setting for JL W7?
b) Level: I guess that depends on how much equiliser settings would I be imposing on the output?

3- Subsonic filter: 0-40 Hz: what sort of settings should I be looking at?

4- Lo 24db: 50-200Hz: What is this? I have some idea but do not want to feel guilty if I put wrong things here. What sort of settings are best?

I have few days before I get JL W7 box and till then I want to know the optimal settings for this amp and sub.

Looking forward to hear your opinions please.

Thanks.

1- Phase: What is the phase? It shows in the diagram that it inverts the curve of the sound. THIS GIVES YOU A CHANCE TO BETTER LINE-UP THE ARRIVAL (AT YOUR HEAD) OF THE BASS FREQUENCIES WITH THOSE OF THE MIDBASS FREQUENCIES. IF THEY ARE 180 DEGREES APART, YOU HAVE CANCELLATION. THEN YOU FLICK THE SWITCH, AND THEY ARE ALIGNED. SET IT TO THE SETTING YOU LIKE BEST (USUALLY WHERE THE BASS IS MORE UP-FRONT)

2- Equiliser:
a) Frequency 40-90 Hz: What should be optimum setting for JL W7? THIS DEPENDS TOTALLY ON YOUR ENCLOSURE AND THE RESPONSE IN YOUR CAR. IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN RTA, LEAVE THIS ALONE.
b) Level: I guess that depends on how much equiliser settings would I be imposing on the output? SET IS TO YOUR LIKING, OR UNTIL IT BLENDS WITH THE REST OF THE SYSTEM. START ALL THE WAY COUNTERCLOCKWISE AND WORK CLOCKWISE.

3- Subsonic filter: 0-40 Hz: what sort of settings should I be looking at? IF YOU HAVE A SEALED BOX, LEAVE IT OFF, IF PORTED, SET IT TO 20-25HZ. THIS IS TO PROTECT THE WOOFER FROM PLAYING FREQUENCIES THAT CAN POTENTIALLY HARM IT.

4- Lo 24db: 50-200Hz: What is this? I have some idea but do not want to feel guilty if I put wrong things here. What sort of settings are best? THAT IS IS THE LOW-PASS FILTER. IT DEPENDS ON THE SIGNAL YOU ARE GETTING...IS IT ALREADY LOW-PASSED? IF NOT, SET IT AT 60-80HZ, WHICHEVER WORKS BEST FOR YOU.

I am bit confused here.
Most of the mono amp comes with just one speaker connection or if there are two, they come with bridging options.

On this amp, (if you see manual, p. 5) suggest you to connect your single sub on one terminal (left terminal on the photo) and it suggests 2ohms.

Now if I were to set up W7 with this amp, would I connect as per bridged sub (+ve of right channel and -ve of left channel) to have 3 ohms ?

Very short manual for this amp and I guess not enough for a person like me.

The other question is around setting gains.
When I set the gains, should I play 50Hz and setup with voltmeter to have
38.72 volts

for 500 watts at 3 ohm?

I hope somebody can help me with these two questions.

Got the answer for my first question.
Now question re: gain settings.

'When I set the gains, should I play 50Hz and setup with voltmeter to have
38.72 volts

for 500 watts at 3 ohm?'
