"Christmas list" help
Hello all-
Long time lurker for about 3 years (some without an account), I've always wanted to do a formal introduction to the forum but have just never had the time... My car 2007 Black sapphire metallic e90 (Dinan 1, DCI, matte black grille/badges, and 19x9 19x10 VMR V710) So, back to question. With the holidays approaching quickly I have started to put together my wish list. Option 1: BMW Performance Exhaust Option 2: Koni FSD shocks/ eibach spring kit and an M-Tech rear bumper. The exhaust is a little pricey but if I decide to get that I will have no way to get the drop my car desperately deserves with the 19s installed. But that exhaust note is so intoxicating. I give all credit to my knowledge of my bimmer to you all, so a little advice here would be greatly appreciated. I will do a full intro after the holidays with whatever mod(s) I get next! Thanks in advance. |

Exhaust definitely brings the car to life. Cruising around town with a nice exhaust note is fun and won't be tiresome esp with BMW performance. Not too quiet, not too loud.
However, I'd go with suspension first considering you already have wheels. You'll be happier with the overall appearance/handling of your car.

I think the decision has more to do with what you want from the car. Will the coilovers make the car look better and also handle better? Yes. But if you aren't someone that tracks your car, the majority of your purchase will be for the looks, which you never see when you are inside the car driving.
HOWEVER, if you get the exhaust you get to hear it every second you are in the car. This is how I broke it down when I was choosing between coilovers or exhaust and because I don't track my car (yet) I decided the exhaust would be more satisfying. So if I were you I would consider what is more important to you and if you don't track your car I would find it hard to justify coilovers over exhaust. |
