Help..i updated my iPod video 5th Gen and Idrive say it isn't compatible anymore...

anyone came across this ?? any solutions?

When I damaged my 4th gen iPod by dropping it I replaced it with
a 5th Gen iPod classic. This would not work with the Y lead that I already had which I purchased in 2007. Had to buy a new one (New part number)which would charge the iPod. It also works with iTouch and iPhone 4. I don't have iDrive but it may be the case that it is saying it dosen't work due to not being able to charge. I am sure I have seen a list of compatable iPods and the classic is on the list.

Just re read thread and I take it that you have just updated the iPod in iTunes and it is now not working, so above advice will not be any use.

Thanks man , i will try to borrow a mates newer Y cable to see if it works...if not i have a long time reading how to downgrade firmware..

I ve got latest firmware update on 120g classic and have no problems.

my cable does my 5th no problem. Also works with iPhone 4 - do you have an iPhone you can try it out on?
