I have a 2008 335i. This is a class "b" vehicle.

I basically emailed a few dealers (finance departments) telling them I was emailing a bunch of dealers and would pick the lowest price. I think being up front was good that way they realize either they give a good price and have a chance at a sale with no effort or they give a high price and have no chance. I had one guy try to quote me msrp which I found ridiculous.

What do you all think? So far from what I see this is a good price based on today's rates? Anyone able to do better? I think this is around $900 off msrp for the warranty.

The numbers being the exact same from a couple of different dealers leads me to believe that this is pretty close to bottom line for them, or it's just a crazy coincidence.
Great price.

I got quoted $2390 for 2/24k at Orland Park BMW. However the car has 69k miles (2007 335i).

I actually didn't get any other rates because I had my mind set on the platinum. And supposedly she got confused when she quoted me originally..I actually ended up getting it for $3400 and not 3350. She ripped me $50 lol

Something I came across on EBay. The right to buy a extended warranty for $200 over cost on warranty up to 7yr 100,000 mile. Not sure what the price ends up being. Guess it comes down to what car it is for.

wtf?

That's $5 to get a price quote...which you can get for free if you call any dealer. What a ripoff.

Would the standard CPO warranty be comparable to the powertrain plus or gold warranties? My car has CPO until Dec 2013 or 100k. I guess I couldnt extend it any further anyways right?

CPO warranty is the same as the gold extended warranty. You can't extend a CPO warranty.

In what ways is the CPO warranty better than Gold Extended? CPO warranty does not cover "Radio/cassette player, telephone, navigation system, CD changer, or any components of those systems" where as New Vehicle Warranty does (as well as Platinum Extended Warranty).

I have heard that Platinum Extended covers almost everything except normal wear and tear.
I would assume that any issue can be fixed under the New Vehicle Warranty before it expires. You can only buy Extended Warranty before the NVW expires anyways. Another benefit of Extended Warranty is that you have the option of getting a 2 or 3 year EW, where as CPO warranty is fixed at 2 years.

Finally back in the forum and realized that I posted on the wrong thread. Lol.
Deleted the other one and moved it here.
----

Hi all,
Been reading the thread because of mine will expired on September 1st.
Lots of good information but still have some questions and maybe fellow users will be able to help.

I have 2008 328i with no iDrive, no Navigation, currently at 36k miles.
Average driving per year 10k - 12k.

Got a quote from FORD ESP.
6 Years 60k at $2070
6 Years 75k at $2725
6 Years 100k at $3545

7 Years 60k at $2575
7 Years 75k at $3525
7 Years 100k at $3905

My questions are:
1. Are those prices might be better than the BMW ones? I haven't shopped around for BMW prices. Only seen the LIST price that was posted in #225.
2. If they are not. Anyone would like to share which dealers might have the best price?
3. Does the FORD ESP coverage is better than the BMW ones?
4. Based on what everyone posted looks like the extended "warranty" isn't the same as extended "maintenance". Does anyone know the list price for extended maintenance so we can use it to negotiate? or maybe if you can share what you've paid that could be helpful for others too?
5. Is it worth it to get extended maintenance? or just go to indy shop for maintenance.

I hope whoever answer these questions will help fellow users that are in the same situation as mine.

Thanks Guys

I purchased the platinum 7/70 for my 08 335xi today for 3400. The sales guy told me that this was the absolute best he can do. I tried to get him down to 3300 but he said that 3350 is his cost.

How many people here know "people" who play the russian roulette game of mods like a JB4 and or intakes and exhaust and buy an extended warranty?

My warranty expires inside of a year and while I am still stock I know that cant last much longer but I would also like to try and cover the downside of any catastrophic failure.

Any advice on said friends would be appreciated.

Thanks.
