My 2007 335i journey so far
Sooo figured i'd make a bit of a journal of my experience with my 1st BMW and costs. Bought a 2007 e90 335i AT sport with 58k miles on it a few months ago, here's whats been done so far.
Inspection -100$ new front bumper and fog light (old one busted) -250$ new front tires & installation (old ones were bubbling)-500$ Oil change, oil filter housing gasket replaced and intake cleaned -700$ Ceramic tint - 600$ JB+ -100$ new halo bulbs- 70$ Vinly roof wrap- 250$ new rubber window trim - 40$ New spark plugs -60$ New coil packs 120$ Jb4 g4 300$ VSRF downpipes - 200$ VSRF 7" FMIC - 250$ Burger tuning catch can -200$ new cabin filter - 30$ new wheels - 600$ Install of fmic/downpipes/jb4/cc/plugs 700$ New turbos under warranty - free recall for cable - free Total so far: 5070$, total on maintenance and repairs: 1680$ Repairs needed DSC and brake bleed: 1000-3000$ Dents: 500+$ waterpump and coolant: 1000$ new stereo 300$ (mines currently jacked up) new hood/trunk struts 100$ rotational brake squeak and brake squeak ??$ floor mats 100$ interior door panel and steering wheel ??$ underbody 300$ Think if the turbos weren't replaced for free then i'd be trading in the car lol. It's nice but think i'd go with something thats a bit less of a PITA. These cars seem to be designed for the 1st owner and the 1st owner only, get great power boost for little cash but stuff is just constantly breaking it seems like you really can't even thinking about putting miles on these cars without a worry that things are just gonna break. |

Take away all the mods and cosmetics and accident repairs, and it seems like normal vehicle maintenance to me. But then, I've owned BMWs all my life

Your dealing is stealing your money. I did all this for about $65 and it took 35 min, DIY oil change is so easy on e90s.

Yeah luckily the turbos got covered, but still need to replace the DSC and water pump. these are kind of major systems failing after so little miles, service record on the car is kind of crazy too, injectors failed, hpfp failed 3 times plus a whole slew of other things that have been fixed over the life of this car.

oil filter housing gasket and intake cleaning (walnut blasting) were the big parts, oil change itself was throw in for free minus the supplies.

Well I knew what it was. I was just trying to figure out why you were replacing them. Do the struts go bad on the hood and trunk? Dang..

I mainly talking about the oil change and I thought he was talking about the oil filter gasket. Both of which can be done in under 20.

e85, downpipes, dci, jb4, fmic, don't see why it couldn't be pushing that at the crank if jb4 claims are correct since they rate at the wheels 384 with no e85 considering the 20% loss from drive train
