I just got a quote for BMW's Liberty Insurance and it was actually pretty good. Does anyone have any experience with them. I currently have USAA which has been great but the savings is pretty good.

This is what I have currently on a 2010 Chevy Tahoe and 2011 BMW 328i
300/500/300 Liability
300/500/300 Uninsured Motorist
250 Comprehensive
500 Collision
Rental Car

$854/6months

BMW's Liberty Mutual
500/500/500 Liability

$1316/year

Almost $400 in savings is pretty good but I wanted to hear from people who have the insurance to see how the service etc was. I thing USAA is rated at AA and Liberty is an A to A- depending on what ratings agency you look at.

It's just Liberty Mutual with a BMW discount. You may be able to save even more if you tell them you have a college degree and name your college.

When I moved to MA, I went to the local Liberty Mutual office to start my
policy in MA. While sitting with the agent, we called my former state's insur-
ance agent and requested cancellation for that policy as I'd just purchased a
new policy in MA. I had to return home to obtain additional paperwork for the
Liberty Mutual office when an 18-wheeler knocked my car off the road - making
it a total loss.

When I finally got to my home and phoned the Liberty Mutual office, the agent
said, "Oh I am so sorry to hear that. You're not covered - you need to call the
other agent." I called them and they said the same thing.

Then I filed a complaint with the Office of the State Attorney. It turned out
BOTH companies had to cover my loss as when one cancels a policy one is
still covered til midnight AND when one buys a policy it is retroactive from
midnight.


Will I EVER buy an insurance product from Liberty Mutual?

its decent but i pay less at gecko for the same coverage and 2 additional vehicles...Depends on alot of factors so you wont get a fair comparison but if its cheaper than what u have now its a no brainer.

Have liberty, love it. I have shopped my insurance several times over the years and no one has come close. Multi Policy, Multi Car with discounts based on alumni.

Being in AZ, I have glass coverage (lots of rocks flying on the roads) and have used it on 2 occasions without hassle. Never had to deal with it on any other damage however.

I have Liberty Mutual and love it. It protects all of my vehicles (BMW, Mercedes and Jeep) and I only pay about $151/month.

I have Liberty Mutual BMW Performance insurance on 3 cars and Liberty Mutual Homeowners--Save a ton of $$ over Allstate, State Farm, etc.

Liberty Mutual, even with the BMW discount, could not even come close to what I am paying State Farm. Insurance is incredibly individual, all you can do is shop around. I do so every year just to keep my State Farm agent honest. So far in 11 years no one has been enough cheaper to bother to switch.

stay with USAA, no hassle with claims at all...they pay super fast and customer service is AWESOME! plus you get a rebate check each year anyway

I'm a fan of Liberty Mutual.I decided to go with Safeco, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of liberty Mutual. Safeco's rates were a little better and it offered better sewer/sump backup coverage than Liberty under the homeowners policy. Also, if you have an umbrella policy, the umbrella coverage does not apply to uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage under the Liberty auto policy. With Safeco, the umbrella coverage does apply on an excess basis beyond your Um/Uim limits.

Call USAA. I use to work for Metlife and they quoted me a better rate than my USAA policy was. I called USAA (because I really didnt want to switch, they have been good to me) and they offered to price match for me. 6 month later they again lowered my rate for me.

Do not drop USAA. There are not many insurance companies that are easier to work with than them.

I had liberty before, although I had never had a claims, so I don't know if their claim service are good or not, everything else seems ok.

Damn, Lucky you. I guess it is just where I live. I have All State and I pay $2k/ 6months. And I am getting a better rate than most of the people I know. This is for 3 cars, Accord/Jetta/Altima (the bmw isnt yet insured), at 100/300/100 coverage.

I'm with USAA and they're great. I wouldn't switch.
