Ooh, shiny!

The lug bolts on the 2010 328xi Touring I picked up last week had done their duty and deserved to be retired (i.e., they were totally beat up). I poked around the Interweb and kept coming back to titanium lug bolts, which just looked so fine and so much better than black-coated steel that would be dull looking again so very soon. But the price!

But Acer Racing seemed to have the best price on some high-quality bolts so I closed my eyes and hit the "Complete Order" button. No, not gonna say how much - my wife might be monitoring my communications and she and I have an unspoken agreement regarding car parts . . . basically she doesn't ask and I don't tell.

Anyway, put them on tonight and they do look mighty sweet. Sorry, no pic of the finished product as it was too dark by the time I finished. But here is a shot of the new alongside the old.

They look great! How does the shank length compare with stock? Would they work with wheel Spacers?

They appear to be direct replacement of the same length, so they would work with 20mm bolt of spacers, but if you had regular spacers you would need to find longer bolts

Side-by-side they appeared to be exact replacements, so would work the same as stock. There do appear to be other lengths available from other brands of titanium bolts.

It has rained or snowed here almost every day since I got the car so it and the wheels are dirty. Weather this week is supposed to warm up so I may be able to clean it up a bit on Saturday and will get installed pics then.

I'm not big on locks - the only one they really keep from getting the wheels off is me. The wheels are the base stock wheels from 2010 - I like them, actually better than any of the upgrade options that were offered - so not worth very much. I've never had wheels stolen so maybe I'm a bit too relaxed. I don't have locks on my Corvette and they are only on the wife's ride because that is what it came with.

If someone seals your wheels, they hopefully will take the bling as well...

These are the dealer pics. It has been raining or snowing pretty much since I got it so I really don't have any pics of my own yet.

Not sure what you mean - are you recommending I get the M Sport bumpers? Or do you think I have them? I'm new to BMWs but looks stock 328 to me.

So, it was dry and still daylight when I got home last night so I got a shot of the wheels with the titanium bolts - wheels a bit dirty but . . . well, it's February in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic.
