20% all around or 20% back and 35% front tint?
Simple question but I'm hardcore contemplating between the two. I want it dark, so 20% would be ideal but I can't seem to find a company that does 15% back and 20% front. The next jump would have to be 5% back and 20% front.
The next option would be 20% back and 35% front but I don't think it is dark enough. I only want to go this route because I like the faded look, darker in the back lighter in the front vs the same all around. What do you have and how do you like it? I have a silver sedan with black interior if it'll make the tint look darker. I've come to the conclusion that I want front window tint and will deal with the tickets when it happens. Thanks. |

20% all around you can't go wrong! I had the same dillema as you and I don't regret at all with going 20% everywhere.
35% wont save you a ticket so might as well go 20%

My previous e46, I had 15% back and 20% front and love how its darker in the back and you can see through just a bit in the front. Can you guys post pics of your tint if its faded, or if its the same all around? Thanks.

i have 35% front and 20% back. havent had problems yet (knock on wood).
35% is light enough that you can still make out a person through the tint. 20% you can maybe see a silhouette. any darker than 20 you basically cant see through it from the outside unless youre really close

Really? Maybe things are different in Canada.. 35 is actually legal here.
I have 20% all around. That SUV-style look isn't worth it, man. Go even all the way around or don't get anything. And 35 is WAY too light once you see it in person.

20% all the way around...this is in the middle of the day too Here's from the front view...I leave my sunroof cover open, allows a little more light in so I dont get into too much trouble with the law, but at night it's dark You can somewhat see my daughter's car seat in this pic as it's in direct line of the sunroof and sun

20% all the way around. The windows will naturally look faded because of the light let in from the windshield giving it a faded look.

So I am setting up my tint appt for this week. More than likely I am getting 20% tint all around. Have you guys gotten pulled over alot or the tint being an excuse to get pulled over at night?

your probably not going to get pulled over at night. it looks like everyone has tint at night...lol...all you have to worry about are those rainy days where it is suspect if you have your windoes rolled down and next to an officer. i'm just stipulating a circumstance. this didnt happen to me at all....LOL!!!

I would do the all around. I think it looks a little weird when the front ad back are two different tints. I have the 35 all around only cause I don't want a ticket lol. But I really wanted to do 20 all around. I would do the 20

Also be aware of your surroundings, if you see a cop ahead, don't park next to him at a light. Another thing, I rarely see BMW, Mercedes, higher end autos getting pulled over. Unless it's an old beater that someone made it into a ricer.

FML, just got 20% done all around and kind of regret it. It looks like it is limo dark tint. Its pretty gloomy today, so hopefully it'll look better in sunlight. Might have to get it taken off and do 35% front 20% back.
