What map is this again? Looks like S2+ Sport! Your timing advance is low

His charge air temps were 105 when he started the pull and were over 120 by the time he let out. With IATs that high the DME will be using the timing correction factor table to reduce the timing map. These timing reductions will not appear as a "corrections" because it is what the DME wants.

Ok guys just installed the AP and ran the 4.01 for the first time. Stage 1 Aggressive. How does she look?

Attached is the csv but here is a quick chart.

And yes this was 2nd gear. Wasn't close to a hwy so couldn't snag a 3rd gear pull yet. Tonight I'll have some from on the dyno.

Has anyone made their own aggressive map intergrating meth using the ATR software? I recently had a HFS-3 meth kit installed and got a ATP Pro tune. The car feels great, but has been having timing corrections in my data logs. Im wondering if anyone has any custom ATR maps intergrating meth that they would be willing to share? I want to give some other meth maps a try until my tuner gets back to me with a revised map. Any help would be great.

Crawl under the car then remove the O2 sensors post catalytic converters and spray them off with brake cleaner.

ok I just got my Cobb for my 335i (bone stock) and I loaded up v3.01 sport mode linear throttle. I just picked that one to begin with and quickly noticed power while I gave it a little gas around 40 mph.

When I first backed out of my garage and put the car into D, I heard a few seconds of what sounded like a ping that quickly went away. As I was reading some posts I found version 4.01 is available.

Question is, do I need to return the car back to stock or can I just flash it with 4.01 since its currently at 3.01?

Also, is sport linear the best option for a stock car?

Thanks

You can just upload the Stage 1 Maps (v401) and flash to them (no need to completely uninstall the AP & then reinstall with the new tune). This goes on if you decide to go from Stage 1 Sport to Stage 1 Aggressive and/or other tunes

The Linear Throttle Mapping was designed for track racing since the amount of gas input directly returns the amount of power (10% throttle pressure = 10% power, 75% throttle = 75% power). I personally prefer the Stock Throttle Mapping, I like that the car goes on boost immediately & that the gas is a more sensitive (when compared to Linear Mapping). One isn't better than the other, it's personal preference

Best advice is use which ever map that is best according to what Cobb says to use. The sport is best from my personal experience. And no need to put car back to stock to move to different stages. The maps will overwrite the previous.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it and will upgrade to 4.01 tomorrow. I forgot to ask, is there a break in period at all?

So far so good, I can actually feel the power!!!!!

What kind of hp/tq gains should I get going from a v401 Stage 1 Agressive (With DCI's/Berk Resonated Catless Mids & Sport Axleback) to a v401 Stage 2 Agressive (VRSF DP'S).

Im still on the fence between DP's & an intercooler. I currently only have the funds for one, and the DP's are actually far cheaper at the moment.

Just out of curiosity, what are you planning on mixing to get min. 93 octane for the aggressive maps? Ca 91 is horrible stuff, and I was getting timing corrections just in Sport Mode. I mix 20% E85 and now my timing is sweet. Haven't gone to aggressive because I am waiting for my IC, my IAT are still high, especially since its been in the 98 deg.+ range lately.

that's my thought process anyway before I get DP's. S1+ is still pretty impressive. Plus don't want to pay to play with DP's, My SA said that's one thing they look for during servicing. Sorry I don't have direct numbers for you, but just wanted to share the route I am taking.

this is for I8A0S, not sure what your ECU ID is, but i believe they are the same when it comes to what stage you get.

essentially, suggested upgraded intake, drop in or DCI, Required Down Pipes, suggested Cat Back Exhaust system, Stock FMIC ok.

when you go to S2+ is above plus Upgraded IC.

You're probably going to see a ~20hp bump assuming the car likes aggressive maps.

With adding full exhaust and going from Stage 1 aggressive to Stage 2 aggressive you looking at about 10HP peak but starting to flatten out the torque some.
