As an after thought, could you live without your module while sending it to someone who can test it in their car, either a forum member or a breaker who has a car able to test it on?

If it only were that simple I would do it. I live in Malta and there is not many breakers. the ones probably still do not have e91s. My best option would be to get from the uk. However the best price i found so far was close to 120. I f I manage to find anything cheaper I would gamble and get it. If not I have to live with it until I figure it out.

Cheers mate. I'll post if I get anywhere!

Just wanted to pitch in some more information as I am still without a solution. I have not found a decent price for the module yet and don't want to commit to buy it for 120 without being sure it is the cause.

Sometimes I doubt whether something else is affecting it. At the moment I am opening using the key and every time I open the door the alarm annoyingly goes off. So in order to stop it while I put my kids in the car I put the FOB in the ignition slot. Strangely enough when I did that yesterday, the other three doors (Rear, and pass front) locked while the driver side was open. Really weird as normally the central lock does not work while the driver door is open. I think it is related. Any thoughts?

Cheers

TBH i cant remember if my central locking worked from the inside when the module died, but try this guy http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=992795
There may be a chance that he'll sell the module seperately?

I am having a very similar problem as the OP. Only my key fobs will unlock the car fine. They just will not lock the car. I am able to use the manual key. Fuses are all fine. Going to scan the car with INPA this weekend to see if I get any codes.

Update: Problem solved. I ran through a couple test programs with DIS and came to the conclusion that nothing is wrong with the car. Even switched the diversity antenna into another e90 and it worked fine. So I popped the key fob casing and noticed the micro switch on the lock button is faulty. It will lock if I push it just right on the circuit board. $11 for three micro switches off eBay and $20 for a new key fob case.

Mine keeps blowing the fuse at the moment... with the 15A one in there... so will upgrade to the 20A to see if this makes a difference! fingers crossed as going away tomorrow evening

Any suggestions?
I was pretty sure I had updated my response. In my case it was the meticulous task of checking every wire in the door hinge. It turned out to be a broken wire. I managed to pull both ends, soldered and re-installed. Could be you have a similar problem.
