Stains on a window trim

I have the chrome/aluminium window trim which looks really bad.
There are plenty of stains on it, actually the whole surface is full of stains.
They look like water stains but someone told me it happened because of chemicals they use at automatic car wash.

I bought my car like this, but I hate how the windows trim looks and I can't restore its original look.

Any ideas ?

Thanks.

Try using a clay bar first. If not, idk what to tell you.

This is a very good question, and has been discussed a number of times. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a definitive solution to this issue. I wish there was, as it's been a constant annoyance for me as well.

Thanks for all suggestions.

I am wondering if anyone tried wet sand and polish or clay bar and how it went.

Thanks a lot. I will give it a try as soon as the weather gets better.

I've got some P21S multi-surface finish restorer but haven't tried it out yet. I'll let you guys know if it works.

went back and looked, its actually marketed as a "blue magic metal polish", not as a wheel cleaner but made for chrome and metal and all that good stuff.
anyway this is it...
