Tyre puncture repair?
I have a slow puncture in the rear drivers side. It needs pumping up every 3-4 days. I'm not sure if it is in a place able to be repaired but do you guys have any opinions or experiences with repair?
Like is it a good idea, how much does it cost, would I be better off with a new tyre, will I need to buy 2 new tyres? The thing is that the tyres have only done 3k miles and I would rather not have to shell out £400 for 2 new rears again if at all possible. Also they are not run-flat. What do you think? |

Repair it. Perfectly safe.
There are limits as to where the repair can be along the width of the tyre. But non RFT's can be repaired along almost all the width. Should be no more that £20. WM |

Any competent tyre shop will have it done in no time at all. If you stand looking at the width of the tyre from behind. Start in the centre and go 40% each way. So you have the centre 80% of the tyre. If the puncture falls in this area it can usually be repaired. If the tyre guy sucks through his teeth and tells you you will need a new one, walk away. As he will repair it and sell it on while making a killing selling you a new one.
