4-wheel alignment
Hi all, just had an alignment done, but the car handles badly when hitting a bump in the road. Whenever the rear wheels hit a bump, the rear of the car feels as if it wants to go in the opposite direction!
Here is my printout. Personally, I feel there is too much rear toe. Opinions? |

What are the units shown here on toe? 1/10ths of a degree I hope. 1/10th inches? 1/16th? 1/32nd? I assume toe-in sign convention is positive? Also your rear camber is way off spec and differs by a degree L vs R, AFTER the work.
Ideally you'd want a small amount of toe-in in front, like total 1/10th degree or so. Some people (like me) prefer zero toe in front. Rear maybe 2/10ths degree total toe-in. Would be nice to have a bit more camber rear (eg within in spec) and front but front is not adjustable. Not sure what the experience level of person doing the work was but leaving rear camber that messed up is not a good sign. Hesitate to comment on the rest but if toe is in degrees it is so far off not funny, more like dangerous. Your rear toe was totally opposite prior (not sure which direction is toe-in) and way off R side vs left, was this car wrecked? Last edited by ajsalida; 04-13-2015 at 08:16 AM.. |

But aside from bad alignment I find it hard to believe rear toe and camber would be so far off "before" if there had not been a very hard hit in there somewhere. Maybe something bushing-wise is bad/worn. You had big toe-out (I guess pending sign convention), R side way way out, and L/R camber differs by 1 deg. It looks like the tech tried very hard to get rear toe equal and in spec and gave up on camber. Or is a moron and does not realize adjusting rear camber affects toe and vice versa, did one then the other and did not notice camber out of spec after.
