Does clay bar remove wax ?

I used Klasse All-in-one to polish my car. Klasse claimed that on average I only need to use it twice a year. I had already polished my car about a month ago.

If I clay bar my car now, do I have to polish my car again ? Does clay bar remove the coat of wax that I just put on a month ago ?

Thanks !!

In my experience yes but not all. I think you'd be best advised to reapply.

I would agree that claying will remove wax since it is suppose to remove contaminants. It will strip the surface leaving a smooth silky touch but no protection.

Claying a car should remove any wax. But AIO and SG are not waxes. They are synthetic polymers. Zaino is too. Zymol (and other carnauba-based products) are waxes. I'm not sure if clay will remove AIO/SG. A 50%/50% mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol should though. But I agree, be safe and reapply AIO of you must clay.

In my experience with Zaino, claying does remove some of it but not all of it. I noticed pronounced but lessened water beading after I've clayed. I would include Klasse AIO/SG in the same family as Zaino i.e. synthetic polymer that sticks to clearcoat rather agressively. What are you ultimately trying to do? If you're reapplying Klasse products I wouldn't worry about completely removing the old layer. If you're going to buff and polish that should take care of the remaining Klasse if you're going to apply another product line.

Thank for all the input. To be clear, I am not trying to remove the AIO, I was hoping claying won't remove it actually. I want to clay because last time when I was applying AIO, I notice there are a lot of roughness on the paint...did some research and realize that clay bar will take care of it.

I had already clay bared my car....wow it's great..now the paint is all smooth. I think I will also reapply AIO...since AIO is pretty easy to apply.

Sounds like a good strategy. If you want an even smoother feel and better durability, apply at least one coat of SG right over the AIO (no need to wait).
