Pull the Trigger? '09 335i e90
Thinking about shooting an offer for an '09 335i e90 nicely loaded with manual, sports, premium, comfort, nav, logic7, dcc, etc. It's a CPO with about 35k miles and the dealer is asking a stiff $37k or so. Area searches show it's just one of a few 335i's with manual/sports available in my 500 mile radius and it's by far and away, the best equipped of them all.
KBB is suggesting it's worth somewhere in the $33k area. When I called the dealership the sales guy said he maybe able to come down a little in price but gave me the "this is a rare fully loaded manual" speech and added "it's a CPO so of course it's over book value." My first question is does the fact that it's a CPO make it worth more than what kbb and other book values suggest? This would be my first bmw and I'm a little torn between buying a used CPO to get my feet wet or perhaps jumping straight in and picking up a '12 on lease. I don't mind used as long as it's clean and not totally clapped out. I like the tunability potential of the n54 but wouldnt mind the increased peace of mind reliability of the n55. Definitely want to drive down, test drive it and check it out but I think $37k is a little out of whack. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks |

Theses cars are getting harder to find. Its a supply and demand thing.
Your price sounds in line. tell him youll give 33500? I just got mine last week same year and options and miles minus the logic 7 starting price was 35990. We got down to 34700, I told him to give me the good rubber bmw mats and an M jacket and it would be a deal. Make sure they fax over something before you go out there that has the numbers if they can't do that their not being honest about something. |

Manual, sports package, aluminum trim, and CPO are my requirements. The fact that it has premium, comfort, navi, adaptive cruise, and logic 7 are all just nice bonuses that I'm sure i'll grow to appreciate. I agree though, 35k is too much regardless. We'll see how far I can get them to go... Thanks again for the input guys Last edited by Cypress; 05-27-2012 at 12:34 PM.. |

Got it!
After some tough negotiating including walking out twice....ended up talking them down to $32k and they wouldnt go a dime less. Very satisfied with the purchase and had a blast driving it home this afternoon. Looking forward to learning more about the car and community. Here are some pics: Gets the daughter vote of approval |

Nice car and nice work! I think you did well for the equipment level and the rarity of the manual.
I picked up basically the same CPO 09 335 (silver+black), 38k mi, manual, premium, sport, CA, but without nav, aluminum trim, or dcc about a month ago for ~$29.5k. When they would not go any lower, I got them to throw in some rubber mats (I'm in MI) and made the deal. My dealer originally wanted $34.5k Our cars are getting harder to find. Gotta jump before they disappear. Mine was on the lot for about a month before I moved. In April there were 3 09-10 335 manual e90 CPOs with a reasonable distance of me and they all disappeared fairly quick. I got the last of the 3. My dealer's inability to correctly specify a transmission on the BMW CPO site probably helped my cause. I'm envious of your aluminum trim! It's sharp...does anyone want some wood trim? . $800 on Tischer is tough to swallow for trim though. Happy driving! Enjoy! |

That sounds about right. I got it down to about 34k even and they refused to go lower. I almost agreed but then after some more thought, got up and walked away. They came after me in the lot and we sat back down and hammered off another 1600 or so to close the deal. |

32k though, is not insane imo...for an lci that includes the packages you mentioned + navi, premium, comfort, etc...well below blue book and just fine for a CPO with 3+ year / 100,000 mile warranty. |

Yeah I feel u but a JB4 makes a 335 twice as much fun to drive. It's the best mod u can do to a N54.
