How to move itunes???
Need to free up some space on my laptop so thought I'd move my itunes music onto my external hard drive.
What's the best/easiest way to move it over to ensure my ipod & itunes (guess the actual systems stays on my machine & just the music moves; or both ) know where everything is??? Thanks in advance .

copy the folder over... its in My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music
You will prob have to add the music into the iTunes library once again after you move the phone. Your iPod shouldnt need any changes as the music is already on there and doesnt pull anything from the computer. |

Think you'll need to consolidate library first, this is just in case you've added music from a different location (i.e. my music) to the itunes library in the past.
Can't remember, but it's in the tools menu somewhere..... edit: or follow this guide to make sure you get it right! for windows: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1364 for mac: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1449 Last edited by Shoegazer; 07-28-2010 at 05:20 PM.. |
