Looks great! I always thought we would get a Race Blue one but having seen the white, I am almost converted. Only down side is that I will have two white cars to keep clean, and am not sure that's a good idea

The boot is bigger than I thought it would be - very spacious. The only thing that I think looks a little odd is the pillars between the front and rear side windows - They would look so much better if they were finished in black to make the glass area appear larger. I will have to get that vinyl'd in satin black if we get one ha ha.

Hi Pete,

Love the car -especially in white, suits it perfectly. The red calipers are a nice touch....thats one thing i dont like about BMW, their styling and performance touches can be a little bit conservative, even the M3 doesnt have coloured calipers.

What arm of the Forces are you in? I'm based over in Germany at the moment.

Very nice Peter, I assume the blacked out grills and window tints are in the pipeline?

Looking good, especially in White. Bargain at that price. The only downside I can foresee is the wooden brake feeling when pushing on. Nothing that R32 front brakes or Ds2500 pads won't sort.

Enjoy

Peter, out of interest, what spec on your car is standard - did you add any options?

The missus said she likes the car, and now wants a white one! (2 white cars to clean ) - I guess the rear PDC is standard. She would also want bluetooth and a proper ipod connection (so it controls the ipod, not just a 3.mm jack). Other options I would like to add are sun protection glass and a retractable towbar for towing my track car around

The MDI is a proper ipod in, you get full contrrol via the stereo, or you do with the sat nav model.

Standard is half leather, cruise, climate, 6CD etc. I added rear PDC (not standard), MDI (as Oli says it gives you full iPod connectivity), full size spare instead (£55) and Maxidot (upgraded computer). The thing that lets it down is no MSFW available or bluetooth, on the manual cars, only available with DSG. Sun protection only available in the estate I think, but is an easy after market addition.

White is best!

Just been reading the pdf brochure - strange how you can spec bluetooth on every manual model Octavia except the VRs flagship model, where you have to spec DSG gearbox before you can add bluetooth!!

You are correct about Sun Prot glass - estate option only - as you say, easy enough to get it tinted afterwards.

If you don't spec microdot, do you lose the large touchscreen? Can't really make out if that is part of the Bolero stereo system?

The detachable towbar is a £230 dealer fit option which seemed good value to me? MDI also good value at £155. Rear PDC seems essential to me and should be standard with VRs spec IMO.

Large touchscreen Bolero radio is standard, its a great sound too. Has SD card slot as well as 6CD.

There are a few strange and odd Skoda option choives, or lack of.

The SD card slot is interesting.....have you tried using it yet?

Just wondering if a large 32gb or similar car could replace the need for an ipod?

Does it list by artist/album/track etc?

Haven't tried the SD Card slot yet. I have only had my iPod hooked up via the MDI cable. I think the SD card is a cracking facility though, I am led to believe you need to have a Class 6 (?) card - the fastest one. because it can be a little slow to scroll through the music list otherwise.

I had the SD card on my RS4, it was good but a total pain to load the music from itunes onto it. I'm not very technical, but I had to change it from one format to another - I would just stick to the MDI - All cars should have this.

Did you say you had blue-tooth? If not the Fiscon is the one to go for, again full control through the head unit, although pricey to buy the unit itself, but it really is plug and play. I've had two of these systems, one in my RS4 and one in my ED30 - You wont be disappointed.
