Laser Eye Surgery

Has anyone had Laser Eye Surgery?

If so, any reviews/recommendations?

I've been wearing contact lenses for years, but starting to annoy me and I want something more permanent

Cheers

CHG, try a search, there was a thread about this here in off-topic about a year ago, some great info contained within.

Had mine done about 5 years ago - all still OK

Optimax on Albert Square in manchester

I accepted a last minute appointment(less than 2 weeks) and it was £295 per eye......... Bargain

You can easily spend £295 in a year on a pair of specs and some contact lenses.........

Right, I'm back after a week away! Just literally got back from Mexico and thanks to my awesome laser eye surgery, I can see just how depressing this grey country is!

Seriously, it is the best thing I have ever done and I can 100% guarantee that the procedure I had (Ultralase Elite) involved no pain whatsoever and took 10-15 mins.

The worst aspect was a bit of stinging for a few hours after the procedure but nothing that would put me off doing it again if needed.

I could see better than 20:20 within 24 hours and I've had no side effects whatsoever since then. My prescription was -4.25 and -4.75 so I was pretty bad.

I really do understand anyone being apprehensive about going through this - those who were on the forum when I had mine done will remember that I was having babies at the thought of going through it - but the results give unbelievable freedom to anyone who has to wear contacts or glasses!

If you need reminding of how much I was crapping myself and how good the procedure and results were, here is my previous post...

Oh, so it seems a waste of money? Or is it for people who are ''Really into'' Laser quest and Quazar?
