rock chip / scrape over weekend ... suggestions?

I get home Saturday night and see this on the driver rear fender of my car

Not sure if this is from a rock chip or someone scraping against me. I parked in a tight lot (not by choice) surrounded by cars on both sides of me so thinking someone rubbed up against me, but wouldn't that leave more marks?

Anybody have suggestions on how to deal with this? Do I self touch up paint this or take it to a shop? I would rather not repaint the whole panel. It is not immensely large and by far the biggest flaw on the car now (and Im REALLY anal about these things)...HELP!!!

Well, if you are REALLY anal, then I suggest getting it repaired and repainted at a shop. Let's just say that you can buff it out (which this looks like you can't), then you still have a nice little ding underneath that will bother you. It's tiny, but you will look at it every time you pass by it if you are that anal about it. Just make sure they are legit at color matching. But if you can deal with it, then yes, touch up paint and then look for the person who parked next to you with a red car!

Looks like a red car hit you, and made your paint or bumper slightly wavy.

If you're really anal about flaws.. then touch up paint won't help you since it's still visible to you, and maybe not to others. Get quotes from local paint shops that knows how to match paint. Most shops charge as low as 80 bux to sand and blend. GL.

Needs to be repaired professionally to be perfect. You could try a Dr. Colorchip kit, but it will not be perfect. Wetsanding and polishing the area after applying the touch up is probably the best you could potentially DIY, but if you're not experienced take it to a professional.

getting it repainted isnt worth it..at most id wet sand it and use some touch up paint..then wetsand again and apply the clearcoat. I did that on a tiny spot on my car since it started to riust after the paint chipped..its still noticable if you look close, but hard to spot from 2 feet away..

paint chips/scuffs are more of a bother when its your first one..as you get more, you probably wont give a sh*t.
