What Tranny Fluid??!
I seem to be getting conflicting info on what tranny fluid my car needs. I have an early built 2006 325i with a ZF transmission. According the Bentley manual I need the Shell spec'd fluid. When I talked to Ecs Tuning they stated that the tranny service 2 kit with Redline D4 fluid would work for my car. So which is it? The price between the Redline kit and Shell kit is like $150. Any help is appreciated.

I did use the Redline site and for my car the D4 is said to be ok. It's just confusing. I looked in my Bentley manual again and in their it states that you are not to mix ATF fluids. It also lists the two transmissions. The GA6L45R takes Dexron VI and the GA6HP19Z (the one I have) takes the Shell M-1375.4. It does not list any other ATF fluids.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

Well I just talked to Jack at ECS Tuning and he also states that the Redline service kit they offer will work just fine for my transmission.

Is thectsc.com a reputable vendor?? The website seems kind of generic. Guess I'll find out, I ordered the 6HP19 kit.

Same here, Klaus is wonderful and their pricing can't be beat. All parts straight from the manufacturer (ZF).
