my radio also only seems to use 5 preset slots at a time even though it can pick up more than 5 stations, is it also possible to get pictures to appear in the square preset buttons, im on 1.2

Thanks

I keep experiencing an issue with my Dynavin N6 that i've searched high and low through the threads to resolve with no avail. I have a 2007 335i with logic7 and the phenomenon I've been experiencing started shortly after I purchased the unit in 2015. The unit likes to just kind of turn off and I have no way other than waiting it out to get it to turn on. In the beginning the issue was intermittent happening every 2-3 months, the unit would be on running normally and then I hear a pop in the speakers and the unit would reset itself, all my radio presets would be gone, however things like the last song playing from the SD Card would be exactly where they had been prior to the unexplained issue. With it happening intermittently and the only thing really being affected where my radio presets I let it be and it slipped to the back of my mind, but as of recently these occurrences have become more frequent as often as everyday to every other day but a new more annoying issue has arised, the unit will seem to turn off and will not power back on, sometimes for a few minutes and other times for a few hours/day. At this point I'm at a lost, I've checked fuses, reviewed the wiring of the unit, checked everything that I can think of but nothing makes sense. I purchased this unit a little under a year ago, and am really bummed about this. Any help through the forums would be very much appreciated I hate to think I wasted so much money on a malfunctioning unit and that I'm screwed. Thanks in advance everyone I appreciate all of your input.

sounds like a intermittent bad connection on the main power wire, could be at the battery (or wherever you connected it) or in the harness.... The SD card position is not something that is part of the memory connected to the constant power wire so that is not relevant.

My advise is better log a warranty claim with your vendor before it expires. You don't want to find that it's a hardware issue after then. If you didn't buy from J&T Distributing who is the official vendor, then you're probably already screwed with a defective unit.

How would I go about doing a warranty claim, I did order through J&T, order #1764?

You would just let me know you are having a problem, pretty easy!

But as I posted above, based on your description it sounds like you have a intermittent connection somewhere on the power wire. Email me if you need further help.

The power wire is connected to the battery I'll check it tomorrow to make sure they're arent any issues with the wire itself, from the battery up to the unit. If it continues after so I'll get on contact with you sir, what is the warranty length on the unit if you don't mind my asking. Thanks again.

Aftermarket Sub Amplifier

Does the Dynavin N6 have an Amp Remote on/off wire connection? Should I cut/use the blue wire off the harness (Plug A )?

And these wires P.cntr/Active/Parking/Data.tx ?

yes, the blue wire is remote turn on, don't overload it though, its just for switching, not powering devices.

not stuff that is used in a typical install, they are related to external tuners and devices that dynavin has for some markets.

The Parking wire is for if you want to put a parking brake interlock on video sources...disabling them.

Hi guys, just a quick question. I lost my warning and indicator chimes a while back for my E90 Exec and BMW suggested changing the entire cluster.

Will installing this provide new chimes or? What about the GPS Maps?

Btw I am from Australia.

Thanks.

Couple of small issues after install + DynaOS 1.2

So, after a couple of years deciding whether to buy one of these I have now taken the plunge and am now regretting not doing it sooner. What a decent piece of kit

Installation was easy and took about two hours for me. Hated having to cut my dash and Climate Control, but needs must!

I have two questions regarding the install that I hope someone can help with:

Since install the time on my driver display, the bit between the rev/mph dials, shows --:-- but the Dynavin shows the correct time. How do I get this back as its normally set by the original radio?

Second issue is that I have lost the single press lift of my driver window, the single press for going down still works and the passenger is unaffected.

I've not disturbed any of the original wires during install and wondering if disconnecting the battery for the install has caused these two little issues.

Finally, I notice v1.2 of DynaOS is out. Should I install now or wait, is it region specific (I'm UK)?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like your on board computer has reset. This controls the window press, indicator x3 and date time and all that.

Turn on ignition and then press the bc button up or down on the indicator stalk. This will take you through various setting including all of the above.

Brill, got the clock back with prbaxter's instructions, always reset clock via original radio in the past.

Auto window up also now solved. For anyone else who has lost their settings after disconnecting battery, to get it back:
  1. Open window fully
  2. Lift switch all the way up to close window and keep held for 5 seconds after closed.
  3. Immediately, press switch all the way down to open and then keep pressing for 5 seconds after it has opened.

This will reprogram the auto window for that door.

One last issue I have found tonight ... I no longer get a chime for no seatbelt warning, I get the light on the dash. I have set the option in the Dynavin control panel. I get the warning if parking/handbrake is operated whilst moving which is on the same line in the Dynavin setup.

Thanks

I could not get it to work in my case either. It is quite possible that "Seatbelt" checkbox serves some other purpose. But I was never able to find out what purpose that is.

"The same line in the Dynavin setup" has nothing to do with parking brake chime. If warning chimes are enabled, you will get parking brake chime regardless of this setting.

That "Brake" check box is there for a completely different purpose: it controls whether you are allowed to use TV and other video sources with your parking brake in released position (i.e. while moving).

Thanks for the clarification on the brake setting AndreyT

Seatbelt chime sorted, I removed the tick from the option in the system menu.
