Changing spark plugs after 47k rpm - Couple questions
Hey there, got a couple questions
After getting some misfires, I decided to order new plugs. But i've ordered ILZ plugs instead of PLZ; not the best, but still should be ok. Now i'm checking the DIY and that looks like an easy job... But then I've read about the gaps. Are those plugs (ILZFRA6D11) gapped from the factory or do I need to do anything else prior to the swap? Also, I need to reset the adaptations with the BT cable right after, correct? And the DIY on this site tells to torque the plugs at 30mn and to use copper based anti-seize grease; which I bought, but the autoparts store clerk told me that "this is not what we usually put on plugs, but if you want copper based anti-seize grease, here it is." So i've bought it anyway, but I would still like to confirm that this is what I need. My Haynes manual dont say anything about it so I have to rely on my fellow forum members to shed a light on these questions before I do the job. (Should be done tonight). Thanks guys.

Do not use any antisieze other than copper as it may interfere with the spark plug grounding. http://www.permatex.com/products/aut...ubricant_b.htm |

This is exactly what I bought; thanks for the info about the grounding.
Do you know about the gap of these plugs? Should I be ok or its a hit or miss? I've seen some guys having troubles with the gapping and they had to adjust it so i'm still worried about slamming these plugs in and crossing my fingers...

If you bought different plugs I would gap them per manufacturers specs and see if you notice a difference. Change the plugs with the engine cold. |

I didnt take the plug out, but I bought those listed on realoem for my VIN.
I dont have anything to adjust or even measure the gap of a plug, so I guess i'm gonna swap one and see how it goes. Thanks Glim.

A wire gap tool is only a few dollars, if you get one, check that covers .040 and .043 |

I saw last night that those plugs were not adjustable. So I should be good to go now!

Perfect, yes these should be gapped to .043 from the factory they should already be .043 NGK ILZFR6D11 Personally I check the gap, Here is the manufacturers reason why we should not check it... |
