My PBX review!
First of all thanks to Mike and N54 for assuring me this was a DIY mod, which it totally was. I was a little unsure but after looking at the JB3 video and the pdf install it seemed pretty strait forward, and it was. The whole install took a little more then an hour start to finish, and i really ran into no problems at all, except fitting the larger ECU connector back on, but after three attempts i just lifted the ECU out a little and it snapped right on. So after I finished checking everything I put the cover back on and crossed my fingers. Car started right up no codes no problems!
Now time to drive. I took it down my street not feeling much difference at all, up and around on a back road still not much different felt pretty much the same. So i pulled over in a parking lot, and reset the PBX and chose map 3, which is what i thought it came on, but boy i was wrong. All i can say is WOW my 330 feels like a beast, quick, responsive, powerful, its awesome. I know there are a couple new flash tunes out there, but for the money I don't see how you can go wrong with the PBX, I'm not saying the other ones aren't good, I'm just very happy so far with what I picked. Also the ability to turn it off so that my wife can easily drive the car is a huge plus as well, she already thought my car was to fast to begin with.

I had the PBX it in my car for less then 6 months. I took it out because I’m getting software re-flash. I will sell it for $200.

You have credit to the pbx that I have not read ONE negative review and every single person has a really good experience and notices a signifigant "fun factor" of some sort when they use it.
I dont know how else to convince someone except to be honest and say I was a skeptic but to try myself I recently turned mine off-but left throttle response 100 percent (level 6) for a week-and then put it back to map 3--I knew it felt different and slower but then I got used to it-Well put the box back on and NIGHT AND DAY difference. It is not a butt dyno, not in your head--and NOT due to the throttle response since I had left that on-its a clear as day difference inhow your car pulls and it just gets so lively. For the dough its by far the best. That said I would pull the trigger on the gintani tune as I DO think the key to more power is tuning the valvetronic and bumping the revs a bit-which they do. For the more conservative guy though you cant beat this |

Thanks guys. Took the long way home tonite from the gym! A few extra back roads and then the highway, car pulls hard from a dead stop, and excellerating out of turns is amazing! I didn't think I could love my car more but I do!

The ability to turn the tune off but keep throttle maps is vital for me, a permanent tune wouldn't work.
Being in the Phoenix area, the stock engine will lose power (by de-tuning itself) in the super-high temps (increasingly as it goes above 100F - middle of summer it's over 110) to keep the engine running cool. To have a tune turned on during this time would mean stressing the engine. I turn the tune off, but keep the throttle map at the same 60% when the temps stay above 100F. I'd like to say again, please make the second level of tune 75%. With a manual shift, 100% is too sensitive, and 60 is not enough. |

100% isn't too sensitive for those that know how to control it accurately. I have the CDV delete done, when I had my pbx I went full tuning and 100% throttle remap. It was nice to have that feeling of the car being there when I barely even tapped the gas, something I had been missing since my '99 Trans Am.
Having said all that, I no longer own the PBX and patiently await the final ez flash module from Gintani/OE.

Any chance of drumming up some more business for these and running another special in the near future? Finally gonna break down and buy one to see for myself...
