The interior is fantastic. The exterior needs work. The front looks so distinct and angular, while the sides are of typical BMW smooth, curved surface design. The back is pure baby 5er. The 18" wheels look tiny with huge donut tires, and the arches looks like they could take a 20" wheel without even breaking a sweat. It's huge and frankly looks like separate teams designed each side of the car and then stitched them together.

Interior is stunning. Not keen on the exterior, just looks like plastic surgery gone a little wrong (or not quite right)

I like the F30 styling overall... as mentioned it is an evolution of the E90 rather than complete revolution. That said, what is going on with that front most bonnet line?! Surely the part above the grille should have been integrated into the body rather than being part of the bumper. It really distracts your attention, and looks terrible where all the panels meet the headlamp... messy!

Also what is with the black slam panel supports that are very visible through the bumper and grill, against the aluminium core rads? Its the same on the new 5series and M5's. They're not supposed to be a styling feature im quite sure, however it again distracts your attention from the actual styling. You might argue that over time dirt might hide these supports, although my 60,000 mile 3yr old E90 still has a very aluminium coloured radiator.

Close but no cigar for me.

Don't agree on the interior at all, doesn't impress me at all while the exterior is OK. I'm afraid BMW haven't done enough to keep me as a customer in 2013 when my current E92 is due to be changed.

The interior is pretty average. The exterior is not great. The line between bonnet and bumper is just wrong. The bonnet is too "droopy". Will wait to see the coupe but it is unlikely that my next car will be a BMW when the E92 is due for a change.

It looks pretty good to me and the colour is really nice too. I like the way the lights seem to run into the grill or vice/versa

The only thing I'm not keen on is the wheels TBH. Disappointed that after so much negative press they've stuck with RFTs again, and those 5 arm double spoke alloys are distinctly meh.

IancoleTX, I agree about those arches - but that's nothing a set of lowering springs wouldn't sort out, just like every other mass production car.

They should have spent more time and money on the design of the exterior rather than including useless shite like that boot opening thing.

Had a look over an F30 sport in red last week at my main dealer. I think it rather nice, outside and in, but will wait for the M-Sport.
In fact have put a small deposit down, to make sure for a Sept delivery.

PS I can recall the lads saying all sorts of nasty thinks about the E90 when it first came out in 2005. How wrong they were!

PPS I notice that 'What Car' mag rate the F30 above the F10 & Jag XF!
