Yeah - multiple deposits at BMW don't do much for ya. Manufacturers where it does are in fact subsidising the lease (Volvo used to do it - now I read the Audi is in on it too). I did nothin. Straight 3 year lease no money down. I lease cause i change cars efvery 4 years max anyways (whether I buy or not) and since I can write off part of the car payments - lease is simpler to write off (no need to worry about re-capture afterwards when you trade-in the car etc.) and a lower payment since I essentially only pay for what I use.

Interesting. Not sure about Quebec tax law but the maximum lease payment that is deductible under the federal system is $800/mth so that would factor in to the equation if you put nothing down and have a payment in excess of $800/mth.

I am curious. I used BMW's lease calculator and for a loaded 335 ($65,500 list) if you put $0 down your payments are $1,061/mth for a total of $38,196 over 3 years. If you put the $9,000 you spoke of your payments are $785/mth (roughly 35%lower) for a total of $37,990 (including down payment) over 3 years - a difference of $730 to you. So if I read you right you are willing to rent a car for @$40,000 every 3 years

What about this:
I plan to purchase out right, to do this i will cash in a small amount of Stock options. I Prefer no monthly payment, but is this the way to go? Is the rule of thumb to always purchase instead of leasing/financing? Even if my stock can earn more than 10% year? I hate the payment thing and since i will only be driving the car in the summer months, i fell paying monthly in the winter for something i cannot drive sucks. Also if i plan to upgrade to the 2008 M3 in 2yrs, so would it be better to lease my 335 now? Or will i lose too much in the residual????
