Anybody ever tried this with the heat-set inserts instead of the expansion ones?
https://www.mcmaster.com/#94180A361 They say heat-set inserts are supposed to be better about not torquing out, both when inserting and removing screws, and they also stress the plastic less and make it less likely to crack or for the insert to pull out. (Anybody seen any of those symptoms?) |

If someone has the sets for the right price I'll just get theirs, if not I'll place an order and get the ball rolling.

If I make the order because a couple of people want some in Think I can get the sets shipped about $4-6 each. And that's max......not looking to make money here.
So that's just me guessing off the top of my head I'll gladly get them out cheaper if I can!! The cheaper the better!! |

I just finished this repair tonight. Piece of cake and took 15 or 20 minutes. Worked great. I have enough for 2 sets of inserts and screws left over. PM me if you're interested.

holy crap!*So awesome.*Bookmarked and added to personal to-do list.
Side note: this is my first post here, so I either don't have permission to PM anyone yet, or I'm not smart enough to figure it out. In either case, if someone has a set they want to sell me let me know. Thanks! |

Just to make everyone aware, all parts have been ordered. Just waiting on shipping. With that said I will have enough for about 11 sets if you all just want the 4 for the air filter intake area or about 7 sets of you want everything. As soon as everything is here I'll be responding to all PMs. So if you are interested just hit me up!

For all those who ask I just got the shipping info from McMaster. I already have 3 sets accounted for, I believe I have 5 more. Feel free to contact me.

I'm late to doing this mod. I converted over to the M3 cowl but i use the exact same screws that are used on the standard E9X cowl.
Anyone know if this works same on the M3 cowl? I will have to go look and make sure i have similar thickness. I will do a practice run on my E90 cowl that's in storage. thanks |

Just ordered a new housing due to broken tabs on my original ($40 from ECS) and may as well install the inserts while I'm making improvements. Anyone currently have a set of 6 inserts/bolts for sale?
