Wheel Question for style 189's
I have an '06 325i and am looking at some style 189 wheels for winter duty. The guy selling them tells me they're Front 18"x8" ET34 and Rear 18"x8.5" ET-37. I've got 3mm spacers in the rear currently' so it should change the offset for the rear wheels to ET34 as well. These wheels should work for me right? I just want to confirm before I release my grip on my "Benjamins". Thanks in advance for your answers all.

Yes easy fit and you can use 225/40/18 for both front and rear, since its for winter use. Also you can add thicker spacer to rear if you want.

At the moment the offset on my current wheels are ET35 front and ET 32 rear(with my 3mm spacer). That said, ET 34 all the way around should be good right? I like my wheels near flush, but not past the fender.

Well there is your answer. 9.5 et32 is 15mm more out than 8.5 et37+3mm spacer(et34). So basically 8.5 et37 + 18mm spacer will extend to same point as your currrent 9.5 et32 wheel.

You need to look at widths too not just offsets. A 10mm up front and 20mm in the rear is just a few mm different than what you have now. It' will work without the spacers though I was just saying they'd fit if you wanted to. |

Ok, so given what you've said, what size spacers would I require to match my current offsets or thereabouts, ET 35 in the front and ET 32 in the rear? I just don't want any gap...FUGLY! As far as bolts are concerned, is there a particular size that I'd need to accommodate the spacers? And hey man, I really do appreciate the help. When it comes to wheels, the math freakin' dumbfounds me.

5mm front
18mm rear. Stock bolts + spacer thickness= Length of the bolts. Stock bolts are 12x1.5, 60 degrees conical seat and thread is about 25mm long. So new bolts length 30mm to front and 43mm to rear.

But I think a 10mm would be a better choice up front because that's the smallest size that is hubcentric and it won't rub. In the rear an extra 2 mm isn't going to cause any running either so you might as well use a 20mm. |

Also he can buy these http://store.vacmotorsports.com/vac-...ers-p2191.aspx ,if he wants to use 5mm and still maintain better hub centric feature. But like you said it would work with 10mm front and 20mm rear. It would look almost like this. Only rear would retract 3mm. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8522/8...ab5a78e7_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8249/8...af1f7359_c.jpg
