Llumar tint
Any one have any thing good or bad to say about Llumar window tint. The local dealership does not tint but they recommended a local shop. They use Llumar and typically use ATR. Llumar has a new film out called ATX. Any info would be great.
Same for Advantage Tint? Good film or no? Last edited by doc1911; 06-11-2007 at 01:52 PM.. |

doc - you are in the same boat as me. I am trying to find out the answer to all the tinting questions as well. What % to go with, what brand to go with, etc...
I have looked at all the pictures and threads in this fourm, and I am still torn and confused. I am thinking 35% in black. I want the classy look not drug dealer look. |

Yep! I just talked to another guy in town who uses Advantage film. I asked how it compares with F1 or Llumar and he said they are all very similar and it really depends on the installation. The advantage website is down (1800gettint.com) and the Llumar ATX is so new it is not on their website.
I too don't want the Pimp-my-Ride look. The advantage guy has a 39% that is 35% on the car. I will probably go with that. |

I totally agree. Yesterday, I went to the shop by me that was recommended by someone here on the fourms, and the owner had an Acura parked in the back with the ATX on it. To me, it looked very dark. He also had a black interior (like me) and while I think it is a little too dark for me, I do not want to go lighter, because 50% is toooo light. I wish there was a 40 or 45, and I would go with that. If you do not mind me asking, what price are you getting? I was quoted $299 + tax for the ATX on my 335 sedan. Unconditional lifetime guarantee against scratches, fading, or "purpling". |

wow.. 15% That is too dark for me. But I am glad you like the tint!
I think LLumar 35% ATX will be the winner for me. I would rather go Formula1, but the closest installer is about 1.5 hours away. That is a little to far for me - by the time I get there, they do the tint, and I get back - it is a full day. |

I have Llumar 35% on my Jet Black with black interior. It has a greenish hue
in direct sunlight. The installers claim its the factory tint making it look that way, but a friend of mine has Pinnacle and the color looks better. I am changing over. |

I had Lluma tinting on a car for 12 years with no issue. I was quite happy with it since it never showed any signs of pealing. Over time I periodically scratched it, but that was my fault. I can't compare its scratch resistance to other brands.

The quote I got for ATR was $250. The tint guy just mentioned ATX.
Advantage was $220 Anyone have experience with Advantage? The guy who uses Advantage seemed much more knowledgeable and professional but the local BMW dealership uses the Llumar guy and like him. |

I had Llumar tint on my Lexus. Never gave me any sort of bubbling or discolouring. F1 Pinnacle tint I found to be abit better in quality and keeping the heat down from friends owning both. If you can, go with F1 Pinnacle.
