private reg transfer question

Hi
I just bought a plate form the DVLA with my initials for £250, which included the £80 fee. Instead of having the number transferred to a car I had it retained onto a v570 (i think).
Do i need to pay a extra £80 to transfer the number onto a car or does the £250 fee include this?

When you pay for retention certificate, is does include the transfer to car fee.
So if you paid for retention, you should not be looking to pay any further to transfer it to your car.

Garage List
When I bought a plate a few years back (from RegTransfers) I couldn't simply put it straight into retention; it had to go on a vehicle first (to complete the transfer of owner?) and then go on retention. As both mine & my wife's cars already had private plates on I was stuck. In the end it went onto my Dads car, then into retention, it's now in his name with me as a nominee, so when he keels over it'll flick to my ownership - what a faff!! The annual retention document still goes to my Dad for him to pass to me & make payment!

If purchased from DVLA it will have a 12 Month time limited either has to be assigned to a vehicle within that time or £25 charge to extend for another 12 Months
