Smog check and Cobb
EDIT: Turns out it's cool to do smog with Cobb, but you can't make any changes to it (change maps, install, uninstall) within 50 driving miles of doing smog. ie, you need to drive 50-100 miles after making any of these changes, and the OBDII part will pass.
Just an FYI, completely uninstall your Cobb before doing a smog check. This may be obvious for some of you guys but maybe not for others. I thought there was just a emissions test, but they also do an ECU check through the OBD port. I put Cobb to stock map but didn't uninstall it completely. I have only primary cats and no secondary and everything else Passed just fine, other than the OBD check. So I'll need to pay the smog test fee once more when I return. cobb will pass obdII check. you probably switched maps right before going to get inspected, which cleared all dtc codes. you have to put 50+ miles on the car after clearing codes for readiness to be set. so, if you're going to uninstall cobb, the codes will be cleared at the end of the install. make sure to put 50+ miles of varying driving on the car before going back to get the obdII check.

I'm just fucking around. We used to have e check here (i acutally worked there when i was a senior in HS) but they figured out it cost the govt more money than it was worth and shut em all down in 98 or 99 i believe.

Lucky you. They had them in CT, then got rid of them. Then brought them back, yay!....... at least they are past the sniffer stage so the O2 sim is all anyone needs to get past that annoyance.

So I went this morning and it passed just fine even on Stage 1 map and no secondary cats. To reiterate, my mistake last time was changing to map 0 before the smog and only failed the OBDII part. You have to drive 50 mi after any changes are made to the ECU apparently. Thanks for the tips.
